I have a problem with my battery. The battery light stays solid orange for a couple of minutes then starts blinking. I have bought and installed a new battery and bought a new charger, but I am still having the same problem. I have updated everything and tried everything I can find online. before I take it to a shop, I thought I would check to see I there is a simple fix or if it's a job for a pro. the laptop is a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-56.

Hi, don't use a USB-C charger but the 135W power adapter (brick) that came with the unit (19.5V.1.7x5.5x11mm plug). A blinking battery LED is indicating a bad or depleted battery, what battery did you buy? Avoid the cheap $20 ones but get an Acer endorsed high quality battery, part number KT.00407.009, like this one: KT.00407.009 Acer Battery Polymer 4C 3720mAh There may also be a faulty MOSFET or problem with the DC socket/power rail of your laptop, wiggle the plug a bit when the laptop is running to see if the LED blinking stops, Zandparts also sells the original adapter for your laptop KP.1350H.002 Acer ADAPTER.AC.CHICONY.135W.19.5V.1.7x5.5x11

The below list are the oem batteries that Acer fitted to the AN515-56 (which and btw, I've been using since 2021) do not buy a copy battery for this laptop and only buy a genuine battery form a genuine Acer retailer suggested for this laptop.

I suggest that you do a Hard Reset first and see if that fixes this issue, first undo the back cover, take the main battery out, disconnect the bios battery and short its +&- pins at the mobo plug, take the ram out, leave the laptop like that for about 15min and replace all components and reboot as this should fix this battery light flashing problem, if this does not fix that issue, then have the laptop looked at by a technician, Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

RTC/BIOS battery pins need to be shorted to reset CMOS

Replace the battery with one of the genuine batteries below
