Troubleshooting Mouse Left-Click Issues on Acer Devices

Hi Acer Community,

I’m experiencing an issue with my external mouse where the left-click is acting like a right-click. I wanted to check if anyone here has encountered a similar issue while using an external mouse with their Acer device.

Here are a few things I’ve already tried:

  1. Checking the mouse settings under "Mouse" in Windows.
  2. Cleaning the mouse to remove dust or debris.
  3. Testing the mouse on another computer (it works fine there).

I also came across a guide on troubleshooting similar issues for Mac users. While it’s Mac-specific, some of the steps might apply to Acer devices as well: Fix Mouse Left-Click Acting Like Right-Click Issue

Could this issue be related to drivers or a USB port on Acer laptops? If anyone has other troubleshooting suggestions, I’d appreciate your input!

Thanks in advance!

Nothing to do that is Acer specific, likely it is an issue with your configuration. An easy test is to boot into the BIOS and use the mouse there. Are the buttons swapped there? If so the issue is with the mouse itself, since Windows hasn't got anything loaded at that point. If the buttons are normal in the BIOS then it's a Windows configuration issue. No help from the Mac or Linux world will be much good, but there are settings in Windows that allow you to swap the buttons.
