My son's Predator Helios 300 is JUST two years old. He ALWAYS uses it on a ventilated laptop stand. A couple days ago it just was completely dead. Tried charging it. Checked the charger itself w a multimeter- the charger is still good. There's absolutely no lights or sounds of any kind when trying to power it on....its.......just..….dead.....

I am not good with ANY kind of tech....and my son is only 14- im just trying to figure out what's going on- and fix it while paying the least amount of additional money. I paid way too much for a laptop that he only got two years out of!

A friend of mine opened up the back of the laptop- thinking if a connection had loosened or a part had jostled around he'd be able to spot it and correct it....but visually- he said there was nothing that he could see. Took it to Best Buy(where we bought the laptop in 2022)- and Geek Squad told me the only thing they could do was send it to Acer- but I'd have to pay $85 to cover shipping and diagnostics- then I'd hv to pay whatever the cost was to repair whatever the issue was. He told me I'd hv to give them a charge card and authorize a set amt I'd be willing to pay for repairs- n i just don't have it right now- right after Xmas.

Has anyone had any issues with their Predator Helios 300? Or anyone know of any similar issues with this laptop? There's absolutely zero response from the laptop as far as hearing anything happening in it and zero indicator lights.

I cant seem to contact acer about this issue unless I agree to the fee based support. 😑

ANYONE......ANYWHERE?!?!?

Help....

Prettiest of all the pleases?????

The pic is just showing the laptop innards. Idk what it's supposed to look like...but im told it appears pristine.....

First of all the fans of the laptop need cleaning and probably the paste of the cpu and gpu also need changing, that is just for starters.

The problems with these gaming laptops when they are completely dead and do not power on is that and if you are lucky the main mosfet on the power rail is shorted and its stopping the laptop from powering on and it needs changing, but if you are really unlucky then your PH335-55 laptops cpu is fried as its mosfet that protects the cpu was shorted and has allowed a 20V charge into the cpu which fries them or its vram is fried also.

This is the DC_IN port that the mosfet could be shorted and a tech should look at first and chase the circuits and see which is shorted and hopefully it does not go to the cpu.

What I suggest is that you do a Hard Reset, with the back cover off, disconnect and take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the battery +&- pins at the mainboard and take the ram out, leave the laptop like that for 15min and then reconnect all components, if you have 2x ram modules only connect one and reboot laptop and if the laptop still doesn't boot then try the other ram module and see if its the ram that is causing this boot issue.

If the hard reset doesn't work then you need to take this laptop to a technician so they can pinpoint the exact problems that your PH315-55 laptop could have and hopefully its not a cpu issue as if it is, then you will need a new mainboard which aint cheap for these laptops, an NB.QFT11.003 with the i9-12900H cpu is like USD $2,283.70 as in most cases its better to buy a new laptop. Good luck

These are all the PH315-55 mainboards that Acer fitted to this laptop.
