Hi,

I got a brand new Acer Nitro V ANV16-71-524U, 14th gen, with Windows 11 Home OS three weeks ago. The problem I encounter is that every time I plug in, the screen automatically shuts down while the keyboard is still on. I cannot use my laptop while charging. I already checked the power and battery settings and made and adjustment but still no changes. What might be the reason, please help to address this issue.

Hi @Wena do you mean that when the device is in use, playing a video or writing, for example, the screen turns off?
Regarding the power settings, have you set the screen to turn off so that it does not turn off?

Hi, I am assuming you are using the 135-W (purple) barrel plug adapter that came with the laptop and not a USB-C charger? Return the laptop to the retailer as you have 1 year warranty on the adapter and battery, there may be issues with the power rail (battery, adapter, DC socket or MOSFETs).

I understand that in these cases, since it is a new device, it is best to go to the seller first so they can give you a solution. Depending on the seller's policies, they may replace the device or give you your money back.
Since the device is only three weeks old, do not accept that they send it to you for warranty. You have paid for a new device and not a repaired one.
