My Acer Swift X SFX 14G-41G only has 2 hours of battery life at 100% battery?

Bought this at September 2022 so only been using for a bit more than 2 years, I'm mainly using it for gaming with adaptor plugged on or normal browsing. Only noticed the battery has been acting like this in the last couple weeks, before that it was fine and still managed 7-8 hours of battery life. What's wrong with it?

Doesn't it mean my battery is still at healthy level and should be more than 2 hours?

Hi, 2 hours backup is what I also get with my one-year-old Swift X SFX14-51G if brightness is set 100%, permanent KB backlight on and Best Performance Power mode while streaming videos (online). You show 15% battery wear that is normally seen after 1 year, not after 2 years with regular use, post the complete report: Paste this in the command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and select "Print to Microsoft PDF", attach the report to your reply, type @Puraw or use "Quote" when you reply so I will get an alert.

Hi, 6 hours battery backup is excellent, and the battery wear is indeed only 15% after 2 years: a top, high-grade, battery good for another 4 years 😉 I recommend letting the battery drain to 5% sometime (till it shuts down on its own) to get a more complete drainage profile and then generate a new battery report. I use the full range 5-100% battery charge but only use my laptops (got 3) for browsing not gaming or running large programs. Replace the battery after it reached 60% wear as behavior becomes non-linear (unpredictable).

So is it because of software bug that my battery only last 2 even though on the report it's supposed to last 6 hours like you said?

I'll try that and get back on you whether it'll resolve the issue or not.

Hi, no bug but update your BIOS version to 1.10 dated 2023/09/20 and Windows 23H2 to build 22631.4751. These updates include patches to make Modern Standby drain less battery power. Also uninstall all bloatware, preinstalled programs and 3rd-party browsers-virus checkers that run non-stop at the background, check the background processes in Task Manager, uninstall the programs you don't use till you see 80 background apps, including Startup programs in Task Manager. Finally use balanced or Best Power Efficiency mode in Power & Battery settings and you will get the 6 hours backup stated in the report.
