Every time I start my laptop, it starts running in the background and it uses a lot of cpu resources and my laptop gets very loud. How do I stop it from running? (It stops if I "end task" but I don't want to do it every time.)

Why is it running in the first place? I even re-installed windows. But it sill runs in the background every time I power on or restart.

Laptop model: Aspire 7 A715-76G-53E0

Hi this is the DLLHost, a Windows system subprocess for applications that rely on the Component Object Model (COM) framework. Unless your computer is significantly slowing down, don't touch those (I have 2 running, see below) but remove all the other bloatware and pre-installed 3rd-party programs you don't need like browsers, virus checkers and trial versions.

It uses 25-35 % cpu in background. Sometimes it reaches 50-60%. It's a huge amount of background processing. And while running, the fans go crazy. That's why I want to stop it. It is not 1 or 2 % usage like your PC.

Hi, do this: Go online and paste this command in an elevated Command Prompt: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter, after that completes successfully run this command SFC /scannow and that will repair some system files, repeat SFC till you see "….did not find any integrity violations". You can also try MSconfig.exe "Safe Boot" and disable the non-Windows services, check what the Task Manager-Processes COM surrogate resources show each time enabling a service till it starts using your memory and you have found the program that is causing it, then disable or uninstall that program. Check Malware or Virus: Running a thorough scan with Windows Defender can help identify and remove any malicious files. Thumbnail Generation: If you're browsing folders with many images or videos, the COM Surrogate process might be generating thumbnails, which can use a lot of resources. You can disable thumbnail generation in File Explorer to reduce this load.
