I have an Acer Predator Helios 18 (PH18-72) and I made a clean Windows 11 installation. I just booted the latest Windows 11 installation media and made a clean install formatting entire SSD.

But before doing that, I cloned the entire SSD using Macrium Reflect software, just in case things gone wrong. So I have a full backup of the original system.

The clean installed Windows appears to be working fine, but I wan't to know if there is a better/correct way of doing it like using some Acer factory reset software/partition?

Because even though it appears to be working fine, I know there is always some hidden OEM stuff that manufacturers configure to make system working correctly. I've already found one, the "change boot logo" option for instance, it was not working anymore because clean Windows installation lacks a specific folder named OEM inside the EFI partition. (Already fixed that).

So now I'm afraid there is some more problems like this hidden somewhere. That's why I wan't to know the correct way of making a clean Windows installation on this laptop.

Can someone please help? Thanks!

I've done a clean install on my PHN16-71 of the MS Win-11 24H2 and all its updates and been using this MS version for ages and since the new version 24H2 was released on many laptops, and there has never been any problems. I think you are worrying about things that you should not be.

Pretty much every single laptop I have, I have clean installed OEM OS and been running with no issues.

    My standard process.

    1. Take Macrium backup of manufacturer OS.
    2. Partition the drive keeping Windows drive to 120GB.
    3. Install OEM OS.
    4. Add other drives.
    5. Map all folders under my user in My Documents to a non Windows drive (helps save my data in case of Windows drive issues).

One item I may suggest is to backup all drivers from OEM OS, as a just in case you need to connect to Internet and lack WiFi drivers.
