Hi. In Windows 10 there was ac Battery Saver feature that enabled you to limit the level of charge to less than 100% in order to conserve the life of the battery. I can't find such a feature in Windows 11 Home on my laptop. Has it been discontinued? Is there another way of doing it?

    Hi,

I wouldn't use that feature because it's useless in my opinion, check whether you have an App called "Acer Sense" in your laptop, BTW, could you please post the full model name of your laptop.

If you have Acer Sense, you can select "Optimized Battery charging" but I prefer Full battery charging, it's my personal choice. You may not have Acer Sense because your laptop may be different model than mine, so, please post the model name.

It's an AV15-53P and I have the Acer Sense app but have never used it. When I opened it , nothing responded and all settings are at zero. Presumably it needs to be activated? Also there is a message on several screens, "The mode has been changed to the custom mode when the OS settings are changing". ???????????

Open the App, scroll down and change the charging feature you want in Battery status, the settings are default and you can change them by clicking the wheel icon in the top far right corner, next to the headphone icon but I don't use this App to find new updates, I don't need to use it at all.

You can try reinstalling the app by uninstalling it first and then downloading the latest version from the Acer Support website. It's also important to ensure that both your Windows 11 operating system and the Acer Sense app are fully updated, as updates can often resolve bugs and compatibility issues. Once reinstalled and updated, you can attempt to launch the Acer Sense app by clicking on its icon on the desktop, pressing the Acer Sense key on your keyboard. The Acer Sense app can help you manage battery settings and potentially limit the charge level to prolong the battery life, similar to the Battery Saver feature in Windows 10.

The battery saver feature exists on Windows 11 24H1 (and earlier) and on Windows 10. It is replaced by Energy Saver on Windows 11 24H2 and later. It helps conserve power when a system is running on battery.

I think, because my AV15-53P is a Vero model, the equivalent app to Acer Sense is VeroSense: it's in the list of applications when I use Product Support and enter my SNID (no Acer Sense). There are 2 VeroSense apps in the list but I presume I just download the later one version 1.0.10.0, dated 2024/08/02. Any recommendations?

Yes, you could try installing version 1.0.10.0 and see whether it helps, when you uninstall the current installation, reboot after uninstalling and install the downloaded App from here:
