Acer M511 - Inactive menu items and cannot adjust screen (keystone)

Hi,

asking for your help. Having the M511 projector, with latest updates. I have 2 issues:

  1. When entering to the menu I cannot select/midify all the options (eg. Brightness, contrast, colors, adjustments, etc), about 1/3 of the options are inactive. How to get them back to do my custom setup?
  2. My bigger problem is that I do not know how to adjust my screen on the wall to have a regular rectangle instead of a distorsioned one. Under menu I have the Auto keystone option, which is failing, screen is 40 cms higher on the right than on the left. If I seitch to manual I have only 1 keystone option to play with but that is rotating around the wrong axis, no other keystone (eg. Horizontal and vertical). How to set up this accordingly?

Thank you for the great advices!

Regards

    Hi @Thalbur

Please try to get the below settings done and let know the status.

    User Controls

    Installation menu

The installation menu provides an onscreen display (OSD) for projector installation and maintenance. Use the OSD only when the message "No signal input" is displayed on the screen. The menu options include settings and adjustments for screen size and distance, focus, keystone correction and more .

1 Turn on the projector by pressing "Power" button on the control pad.

2 Press the "MENU" button on the remote control to launch the OSD for projector installation and maintenance.

3 The background pattern acts as a guide to adjusting the calibration and alignment settings, such as screen size and distance, focus and more .

4 The Installation menu includes the several options. Use the up and down arrow keys to select an option, the left and right arrow keys to adjust selected option settings, and the "ENTER" to enter a sub menu for feature setting. The new settings will be saved automatically upon exiting the menu.

5 Push the "MENU" or "BACK" button anytime to exit the menu and return to the Acer welcome screen.

    Note

If the Image has slanted sides-

    • If possible, reposition the projector so that it is centered on the screen.

    • Press the "Keystone / " button on the remote control until the sides are vertical.4

    If Low Input Lag-

Use this function to make the projected screen smoothly without any lag.

NOTE:When the setting is set to "On", the 3D/Aspect Ratio/Keystone/H. Position/V. Position/HDMI Scan Info/Tracking function will be reset to its factory default settings.

    Keystone-

Adjust image distortion caused by tilting projection.

    Auto Keystone

    • Off: Manually adjusts vertical image.

    • On: Automatically adjusts vertical image.

To restore the inactive menu options (like brightness, contrast, colors, etc.), try the following:

    1. Reset to Factory Settings: Use the OSD menu to reset the projector to its factory settings. This often resolves issues with inaccessible options1.
    2. Firmware Update: Ensure your projector has the latest firmware update installed. Check Acer's official website for any available updates.

To fix the distorted screen and properly adjust the keystone:

    1. Auto Keystone Adjustment: Try using the auto keystone adjustment feature again. Sometimes, toggling it off and on can reset the settings2.
    2. Manual Keystone Adjustment: If auto adjustment doesn't work, manually adjust the keystone. You may need to physically reposition the projector to achieve a rectangular screen2.
    3. Check Projection Distance: Ensure the projector is at the correct distance from the screen. Adjusting the distance can sometimes help correct distortion.
