My battery is at 96%, but when the AC adaptor is connected, the icon gives me a message saying "plugged in, not charging". Please let me know what I can do to fix this.

I got the same thing. Is that an issue?

I now have the same message (although my batter is at 8%). Any advice and.or response from Acer about the problem. Seems a silly and very annoying thing to happen to a brand-new machine.

Same problem here, anyone found a solution?

Solution: I unplugged the AC adapter and let the battery run down to 14% or so, then plugged it back in. After that, it charged too 100%. Battery status now says "Fully Charged (100%)".

It is common for the charging circuitry on a laptop to not charge the battery until the battery reaches a threshold level.  For example, my HP ProBook 4520s will not indicate that it is charging until the battery falls below 90% charged.
