My new Aspire desktop is making 1 long beep and 2 short beeps for like 3-4 times in a row when powering up. This seems to be an error. I can't bring it back to get another because all of the hassle just to install everything back. Is there any solution? System recovery maybe?

Thank you.

One long beep and two short beeps usually indicate a video card or video memory-related error. Your Aspire XC1710 does not have a video card and I don’t know which exact Alder Lake N type cpu that the XC-1710 desktop has, as Acer does not list the cpu specs exactly for this model, all they specify is that this desktop has an Alder Lake N type cpu that has a UHD Graphics 730 type graphics, so that could be faulty or its Intel drivers are corrupted and is giving you that error beeps.

Also, did you upgrade this desktop with an external gpu? As if you did the 65W PSU of this laptop can’t power most gpu’s and that could be the error codes or the cpu graphics might have problems, so and if this desktop is under Acer warranty have Acer tech support check the desktop out and get them to solve this issue. Good luck and hope you sort this problem out.

Follow this How To geek guide as that should get you the startup repair.

What is the exact Aspire desktop model is I a TC or an XC as there are a few different new models and all have different beeping error codes and platforms and they are not the same. Give us the appropriate information before we can give you any exact and proper advice, but if your desktop is under warranty, I would strongly suggest that you send your aspire desktop back to Acer tech Support so the desktop can be fixed properly as any rest is a temporary thing if there is a hardware issue with this new desktop. Good luck.

Thank you for your time on this problem.

I didn't to any upgrades on the desktop.

The beeps are not always present.

I had to start up the PC 3 times todat to get it on and the monitor on.

Do a Startup repair in the advanced options of Win-11 and see if that fixes the boot problem files. Otherwise you need to do a hard reset of the desktop by unplugging the adapter and taking the bios battery out (see #10 in caption below) and then shortening its +&- pins at the mainboard battery cup, then take all the ram out and leave the desktop like that for 15min and reconnect everything back, but with the ram, only install 1x ram module and alternate the ram, as it could also be the ram that is causing this problem.

    RTC/BIOS battery

If that doesn’t fix the problem then you have other issue with the desktops mainboard power rail that you need to take the desktop to either Acer support in your country if its under warrant or a technician near you. Good luck.

    This is the XC-1710 mainboard

The startup repair is designed to fix problems with Windows. The beep codes are generated well before Windows starts to load, so the two aren't related.

I just had to start the desktop 3 times before it booted. Don't understand what the problem is. Now there is only 1 beep each time trying to start up.

I always bought HP products and never had those issues. Really didisappointed with Acer.

They say send us the desktop for repair. It's only 11 days old and the problem was there from the 1st day so they sold a product with defect. Can't miss my PC for work. They just have to give a new one without discussion about a defect product from day 1.

Someone with the same issue posted this:

I have found the problem. When I checked my BIOS settings thoroughly and went to advanced settings, I noticed that the my SSD main drive is on Boot Priority 9 instead of Boot Priority 1. I simply changed my SSD main drive to Boot Priority 1 and is now working properly. Thanks for your help anyway. Much appreciated.

Could it be the same problem? :/

I just don't see how the boot priority for the SSD would affect the video in POST…
