I gave my laptop to service center for servicing, but they removed the pink putty from gpu components and replaced it with thermal paste now my gpu is using 100% vram for games like marvel rival and it is lagging too much and 40%+ for tasks like YouTube on brave. I want to reapply that putty can anyone suggest me which thermal putty should I buy to fix this issue or should I use 1.5mm thermal pads. Avg CPU temp- 72, gpu-50; while playing game cpu-91, gpu-88.

First make sure that you use the latest Game Ready driver for your gpu and the NVidia GeForce software settings to play games as that is what that NVidia software is designed for, if you haven’t got this software installed it. Also, you must have the Marvel Rivals game settings wrong, have a look at these settings for Marvel Rival and reset the game.

Acer technicians do not use and/or change the paste to a non-compliant paste for either the cpu or gpu or its vram chips, the paste that Acer uses for the vram chips is the correct paste, the type and quality of the vram paste doesn’t go by the colour but by the type of paste that is appropriate to use.

I would suggest that you completely redo all the paste in your laptop and start all over again and use a high quality product paste and thermal pads from Thermal Grizzly, I’ve used their products on my Nitro 5 AN515-56 gaming laptop with an i7-11370H cpu / RTX3050 gpu / 32GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 ram, and they work perfectly.

These products are the following, they are the Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal for the CPU while for the GPU you should apply the Kryonaut Extreme is a high performance paste and for the VRAM chips apply their Minus Pad Extreme which come in two sizes of 120x20mm and 100x100mm @ thicknesses of 0.5.1.0.1.5,2.0 and 3.0mm, so with the pads I bought the 0.5 and 1.0mm thicknesses as it was adequate to pack the VRAM chips so the pads make contact with the thermal module which is the purpose of the thermal pads.

Note: be very careful with liquid metal paste as its a conductive paste and it can destroy CPUs and mainboards if you apply too much and not to how Thermal Grizzly instructs you to apply this paste! As if it spills onto the mainboard circuitries and especially underneath the CPU it will short the CPU and the mainboard circuitries wherever its spills onto and ruin the mainboard, so only apply liquid metal as per the guide below. Good luck and hope all this helps you out to solve your problem.
