Do these CPUs naturally run very hot? Making this post more or less to see if this is common or if it's something I should look into.

Background:

Bought the laptop from Amazon last year. Brand new. Noticed CPU package hovers 70-75C at idle. The radiator/vents are clean and free of dust. The laptop is located on raised stand with perforated holes underneath, and at least 10 inches of space all around it for ventilation purposes.

Now, if I'm playing something like a newer FPS or Diablo IV, it runs at 90C, permanently throttled for core temp. I've seen it peak momentarily at 100C and that's concerning to me. I've put all the graphic specs to low-Ish and keep the fan speed manually set at max to make sure it's getting the most cooling it can get, but it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference.

For comparison, GPU runs at a cool 60C at idle, no more than 75C in the same conditions while playing a "demanding" game. Can anyone else share their experience or let me know if there's something i can/should try? These laptops are expensive, and I would like to save it from a premature death.

    Certainly,

    Acer Predator Triton 500 SE (2022) (PT516-52S-99EL) Manufactured 07/2022

    Model N20C9

  • These are the data from the service manual, note the temperature at which the fan speed should vary, these values are correctly estimated for your model according to the use of the processor and graphics, logically, the temperature value should go down and not stay in that range for a long time.
Logically, video applications, rendering or demanding games are those that raise these temperatures to the maximum.

    Greetings.
