Hi, I am getting lower fps and more stutters everyday on my desktop and trying to optimize the pc is not helping, so I was thinking should I update the BIOS. I checked that my BIOS version was R01-B2 which is outdated. I was wondering if anyone else has updated the BIOS on this model and how it went etc. I tried to do it via ucp and win, but it didn't do anything, so now i really don't know should I keep trying or will I ruin my pc.

Hi, if you have Windows10 22H2 you should update BIOS to version R01-C1. Read this post how to extract and install it: how do I update BIOS after downloading the latest BIOS zip file PO3-600? — Acer Community

Just use the documentation included in the BIOS package for Windows. It's unlikely to do anything much about performance though, but it should help some, since the R01-C0 release is described as "Enhance system performance" . Once you have it installed, let us know what's going on with your performance and we might have other suggestions. What are the specs on your PO3-600? Drive size and type, memory installed, GPU, etc.?

Well I tried to update the BIOS but even if I follow the instructions it won't work. I tried to do it using the WIN file and UCP as well but it's just not doing anything. Any tips?

The bios R01-B2 that your PO3-600 has is from 2019/06/06 and its 4 bios version short from the last bios version dated: 2020/07/13 version R01-C1 which the PO3-600 has. Its impossible that the bios will not flash, as you must be doing something wrong or using a bad USB flash drive, so check that also.

What I suggest that you do is make sure that you follow the PDF Acer instructions guide exactly and precisely, as its impossible that your PO3-600 desktop will not flash to the new bios version R01-C1 in the Command Prompt, so make sure that you are not using an old USB, use a new USB flash drive that will work 100% for this flash that is formatted in FAT32 format only and not in the NTFS format, as that could be where you have gone wrong.

Follow these within Windows OS after you have brought up command prompt > Run as administrator:

Go to > Command Prompt > right click and Runs as Administrator. Make sure that when you have typed in > cd WIN > and that the command prompt goes to either E: \WIN or whatever drive number your USB drive is at > and then you keyed in ‘FLASH_64.bat’ > press Enter> as afterwards your bios should start to flash and in command prompt screen you should see the below screen of the bio flash starting to execute:

Then > Press, system will be going to shutdown.

Then > System will auto reboot and flash BIOS.

As after the above finishes "do not disturb the bios flash" until the desktop reboots completely, as if you disturb the bios flash in any way, the bios will be corrupted and the desktop will not boot, wait until the bios flash finishes 100% and reboots the desktop to the OS login screen. Its a very simple process. Good luck.

OK, from the command prompt execute flash.bat as described in the instructions for Windows. What does it display? You should be able to copy and paste the results from the command line window. Don't execute flash_64.bat, the batch file will determine if that's what is needed and do that for you.
