Why Acer Sense from time to time keeps resetting to factory defaults? I don't use it much but I like the 80% battery limit option and USB charge off. And sometimes I find my laptop charged to 100% and if I run Acer Sense it looks like resetted to defaults. Any ideas?

Hi, I don't recommend limiting the battery charging to 80% but to leave the power adapter plugged in 24/7 and keep the battery fully charged to 100%. Limiting the charging adversely affects system performance, limits your battery backup by 1 hour when you need it the most during power blackouts and interferes with Windows11 Modern Standby protocol to a point of not waking from suspend mode or even unable to boot. Limiting the battery charging has no benefits and will not prolong the lifespan of a battery.

Leaving laptop plugged 24/7? And this might be good for the battery.? That is not a good advice..

Besides, I asked about Acer Sense software, not about how to use my laptop.

Microsoft has been doing some updates lately to software like Acer Sense through Windows update. I don't know why that is, but we have certainly seen it, along with the BIOS updates. My guess is that the resets you are seeing are caused by those updates. Acer has been gradually removing the 80% charge limit from Acer Sense for newer models, due to the issues caused by that ' feature' . I agree with the thought that leaving it plugged in 24/7 doesn't help extend the life of the battery, but it also doesn't detract from the life since the current charging circuit designs don't allow an overcharge.
