I purchased 2 nos. swift3 laptops in 2020, used them just a few months during covid times. haven't touched them since. Just tried to set one up and the battery wont charge on either. I tried the battery reset on both, even replaced a battery in one of them, still not charging. The power supplies are working, the laptops work when plugged in to power, just won't charge the batteries. help!!

Hi, update BIOS versions and Windows, if you have Windows11 23H2 update with KB5046633 (OS Build 22631.4460).

What is the Swift model number, as if you left these laptops idle for a long time their batteries charge must have dropped below their critical charge level and the batteries lock, see here how a locked and a battery that is not charging is fixed, as in some cases it needs a special software to unlock them that only certain technicians have.

With the Swift with the new battery, that Swift laptop has a problem in its main power charging rail as a new battery should work and charge if the laptop has not got any charging internal issues. Updating the bios will do nothing as updating the OS as this is a hardware issue and not a software issue.

Yes, we need to know just which Swift models you have. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFxxx-xxx-xxxx. Sitting for four years without a charger connected could easily lead to a bad battery, but a replacement battery should have dealt with that.

I have 2 exactly the same. They both do exactly the same thing. I replaced the battery in 1, it had 75% charge… it loses charge every time its used

OK, so Intel based laptops from 2018 puts them close to 6 years old. It's not unusual to start having battery problems at that age. When you say you reset the battery, what process did you use? Just clicking the reset button under that pinhole on the back doesn't actually reset the battery, it just disconnects it momentarily to force a power off. That doesn't explain why the new battery isn't charging though… Are you charging using the barrel plug or the USB-C port?
