Orion 9000-How to remove the plastic casing that sits over the power supply?
Tinkerer
I was wondering how to remove the big plastic covering that sits over the power supply without completely destroying the plastic.

It would help if you would give us the exact Orion 9000 model number which is something like this, PO9-XXX or even what year model it is? As there are a few different Orion 9000 models and they have different enclosures and different ways of opening their enclosures. Asking "how to remove plastic casing from orion 9000" means nothing.

Is this the plastic that covers the case when initially removed from the box, that's used to keep fingerprints from showing up? If so, it just peels off, don't worry about damaging it.

Ah, there are screws holding it in place. Which PO9 model do you have? They are different for different models. If yours is one of the PO9-900 versions this is what they show:

I have a PO9-600, I've managed to remove the one and only screw it had on it, but I'm now effectively wresting the bit of plastic that is hooked towards the back end of the case. I definitely need to lower it a little bit in order for it to come undone but the PSU is sitting right underneath it so I can't get any leeway to release it. Any tips?

The only thing that Acer has on the PO9-600 desktop service guide is how to disassemble the side covers and the front bezel, I've put these disassembly steps and guides from the service guide for you, so hope it helps you out. Good luck.

The directions for the PO9-600 are the same, including the images, as for the PO9-900. So, once the screw is removed it look like you slide it down enough to release the plastic…
