Hi

I bought a new Acer Nitro V 16 ANV16-41 with no operating system, and after installing Windows 10, I wanted to update it to Windows 11. However, the utility software to check the requirements of the computer indicates that no TPM chip is available.

In the device management window, in security devices, two devices are detected:

In the bios, TPM is enabled.

How can I solve it?

Thanks!

    Hi @pablo_g_a

If you're having trouble detecting TPM on an Acer Nitro, you can try these steps:

    • Check the BIOSBoot into BIOS and navigate to the security screen. Press Ctrl+S to show hidden options.
    • Check in WindowsOpen a PowerShell session as an administrator and enter the command get-tpm
    • Clear the TPMIn the Windows Defender Security Center app, select Device security, then Security processor details, then Security processor troubleshooting, and finally Clear TPM. You'll be prompted to restart your computer.
    • Initialize the TPMPress Windows Key + R, type tpm.msc in the Run box, and press ENTER. In the TPM Management console, click Initialize TPM in the Actions pane. Then click Shutdown or Restart and follow the BIOS screen prompts.
    • Reset the batteryDisable fast startup in power options, turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds, and leave the computer off for half an hour.

Hello Joe, thanks for the answer.

    • Check the bios

    TPM is installed and enabled

    • Check in Windows (get-tpm)
    • Clear TPM

Already done, without any different result.

    • Initialize TPM

It says: "No compatible TPM is found"

    • Reset the battery

    Done. Same result.

    Thanks,

    Pablo

    Hi @pablo_g_a

    1. Download and install the Windows operating system updates from Windows Update. If you have turned on automatic updates in Windows Update, you don't need to take any action because the updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. ...
    2. Install any applicable firmware updates. ...
    3. Clear your TPM.

It looks like Acer had two different motherboards for these models, with the difference being TPM 2.0 inclusion. Likely the non-TPM 2.0 version was for the China market though, where TPM wasn't allowed at the time. It's tough to tell why Acer hasn't released a driver package for Windows 11, but it's also not terribly unusual on the 8th gen machines. What happens when you do install W11 on one? Does anything not work? I would expect Windows update will find and install the latest drivers for most everything.

Its impossible that your Nitro ANV16-41 laptop cant install Win-11 24H2 and its TPM version 2.0 is not detected, as this laptop is designed for Win-11, if after the below guide you still can't install the Win-11 OS then the TPM 2.0 chip is faulty and get Acer Trech Support to diagnose the laptop.

To install Win-11, go to the bottom of the page of this install guide of "Clean install Windows 11 24H2 with Rufus" then follow that guide, afterwards make sure that you also install all the Windows Update to update to OS build: 26100.2454 then check Windows Update>Advanced Options>Optional Updates>Driver updates as this section usually has the latest firmware update for the laptop, so install that, afterwards install the Acer last bios for the ANV16-41 version 1,10. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

    Hi,

I had the same issue with my brand new laptop. Now it's solved. Just try install win11 fresh from the beggining. Erase all partitions, make a new one and install the windows. for me it worked. Now after installing windows 11 I can see TPM 2.0.

hope it works for you too.

    Hi!

Thank you everybody for your help.

The only solution I found is making a completely fresh installation of Windows 11. Updating from Windows 10 didn't work.
