Aspire TC860-GPU MSI GTX 660 GDDR5 2GB - while doing GPU upgradation facing issue-no display.

so for the past 2 hours now I've been going through hell and back trying to install my new GPU (MSI GTX 660 GDDR5 2GB ) I've already upgraded my PSU (in play GS450p) and transferred the board to a new case all of that went smoothly but now as I try to install the new graphics card going through the process of using DDU in safe mode to remove the old drivers, installing the GPU with the 6pin power connector and making sure it's in properly, and turning it on. which results with a no display. then I put my old GPU back (GT730 which came with the unit), and it works fine, I ordered online and even before the seller shipped it to me, they tested it with the same serial number I don't know what I'm doing wrong or is the PCIE slot just locked to the GT730

(Full spec is a Core i3 9100

8gbs ddr4 ram

the mentioned 450w PSU and the mentioned GT730)

    The Aspire TC-860 was fitted with a dedicated gpu card and the top gpu card that Acer fitted to this desktop was the NVIDIA GTX 1050 GDDRV 2GB ATX PCI-EX16 (Acer part#: DA.10511.002). Be aware that the GTX 1050 outperforms the GTX 660 by a significant 26% based on aggregate benchmark results, so why did you buy the GTX660? Anyway, make sure that you have the "Onboard Graphics Controller - Disabled" in bios as that could be why the GTX660 gpu is not being detected and working as the TC-860 is using the cpu graphics.

    Also, update the bios to the last version that the TC-860 has and if you can't change this setting in the bios to an external gpu, then the mobo of your TC-860 is only designed to work on the cpu graphics and you will have to upgrade and get a new mobo also.     Do you have access to another system to test the GTX 660 on? It ought to work, but the card itself might be bad, no matter what the vendor said…

    The option was disabled from the start (also to answer your question about the gtx660 i'm on a really tight budget here and no one in the local area sells any 1050s) anyway i found the latest BIOS version to be R01-B0(ME to v12.0.34.1425) but i am on the latest version with only one discrepancy on Acer's website the BIOS update is dated 2019/10/16 while mine is AMI 2019/10/17

    Those dates don't usually match, since one is the compile date for the firmware and the other is the upload date for the support site. Acer doesn't have anything special in regards to the PCIe x16 GPU slot, so the card should work fine if it's getting power on that aux power connection.
