Swift Edge 16-How to wake it up? when closed the lid it does not want to start up again.

Hello,

I am new here. Just purchased a Swift Edge 16. When I close the laptop (just shut the lid down) it does not want to start up again. If I open the lid the keyboard lights up but the screen stays black. The only way I get response is if I hold the power button continuously. It then beeps and boots up as if it had been swithched off the on.

Any ideas please.

    Hello!

Your Swift Edge 16 might have a power management issue. Check power settings in Control Panel to ensure closing the lid does nothing. Update BIOS and drivers from Acer's website, and reset power management with powercfg -h off in Command Prompt. Also, check sleep settings in advanced power settings.

You likely don't want to set it as "do nothing", since that will leave the laptop on when it's closed, using battery. I have my laptop set to hibernate when the lid closes when on battery and sleep when no AC. You might have an app that's not handling sleep mode well and that's what is causing the actual issue…
