I have an issue with kg241 monitor. When I search the SNID on acer website I get the page for KG241 but when I open device manager it shows as KG241P the back says KG241 and under it says KG241 Pbmidpx. I want to install drivers for KG241 it says best drivers are already installed but when i install KG241P drivers it installs normally. I've been having an issue when plugging the monitor through DP cable it barely works and when it works the highest resolution is 1440x900 and if I force it to 1080p it looks really bad and definitely not 1080p and the refresh rate is @60HZ if I set it any higher it says no signal. I thought it was a driver problem but as I explained I'm not even sure what the correct driver is and only the drivers for KG241P installs and with the above issue persisting.

when I plug it through HDMI it works just fine with 1080p 120HZ.

I have tried:

  • Reinstalling graphics drivers
  • Reinstalling monitor drivers
  • Tested the cable on another display and case
  • Updated windows drivers
  • Formatting windows

If anyone has any suggestion, I'll be happy to try them

There have been a lot of different KG241 models over the years. The P shows sort of which year it was introduced and the bmidpx define the options installed… It sounds like your DP cable is bad…

    Thanks for commenting.

I have tested the same cable on a different monitor and PC and it works fine even at 1080p 165Hz

What graphics card do you have? The base specs on the monitor should be 1920x1080 at 60, 120 or 144Hz on the DP connection. Have you tried an HDMI or DVI connection?
