Nitro 5 Displaying BSOD 'video dxgkrnl fatal error'

Hello everyone!
I have a Nitro 5 with an RTX 4050 and i5-12400H

This thing started a couple of months ago. The screen started turning off randomly while gaming, and strictly only gaming. Recently played Silent Hill 2, and Until Dawn, it happened in both. But I also beat God of War: Ragnarok in the same duration and didn't even happen once.

I've checked diagnostics, it says its Kernel 117 error.
The temps are a bit high but nothing too overwhelming, I've even done a clean install of the windows and all the drivers.
THe laptop just went out of warranty a month ago, it's just a year old.

Kindly help me out, thanks!

Hi, download DDU freeware from the Wagnardsoft site and boot to Safe Mode (press Shift while restarting). Uninstall both Intel and NVidia GPU drivers with DDU and just reboot, Windows11 will reinstall the correct display drivers. If the errors persist you may have a graphics adapter issue, and I recommend taking the laptop to Acer Services in your country.

    Hi,

Please, tell us the model (full name) of your Nitro laptop.

LiveKernelEvent 117 crashes can also be caused by the GPU overheating. Monitor the GPU temperature during normal use and during your games.

The Nitro that you have is the Nitro AN515-58 model, have you installed the last bios v2.14 and all the firmware for the RTX4050 that Acer has on this laptops support page, as that is essential for the gpu to work to its best and its fullest capacity!

Also, NVidia has a specialist software called GeForce Experience software that automatically notifies you of their latest drivers for your gpu and also has over 1500 settings for the major games on the market that you should install also, as the “God of War” game is supported and NVidia has specific gpu setting for this and allot more games game see here for the list. The reason that you might have problems with Silent Hill 2 and Until Dawn is because you might not have the proper settings for those games, consult these games forums and settings and see what can be done.

The Kernel 117 error can also be caused by glitches with the latest display card driver so look at that too and diagnose that problem with that link guide. Also make sure that you have installed the latest Win-11 version 24H2 and done all the update to the last OS build: 26100.2314 which will also install all the latest drivers and NVidia suitable drivers for your Nitro RTX4050 gpu which should fix the Error 117 up and the driver incompatibility problems. Try that and let us know
