Can I connect an Additional Acer monitor to my Swift 1 SF 114-34-P9HJ. laptop?

I have a Swift 1. Can I use an additional Acer monitor with this laptop.

    Yes, there have been a lot of Swift 1 models over the years, each with it's own spec. Most have some sort of ability to connect an external monitor, but the process is likely to be different for each model. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SF1xx-xxx-xxxx.

    So, when searching on the Acer sites, you will want to use SF114-34, not SF 114-34. Their search isn't smart enough to figure out what's going on with that added space…

    Your SF114-34 has a single USB-C port, but it is data transfer only, no video or charging support. You do have the HDMI port to drive an external monitor, but to expand beyond a single external monitor you will need a fairly full featured dock.

    As I would want only 1 external monitor, I am assuming that I can add one with my present configuration. Also, thanks for the comment about using SF114-34 - I was unaware of the space issue ! Thanks, Brian

    Yes, you can run a single external display easily off the HDMI port, just need the cable and display.

    Thanks everyone !! I bought a monitor this morning and it is working fine. One thing though, when the monitor is switched OFF, my laptop is silent when I try to use sound. I can hear only if I use my audio interface (with headphones ). Strange ….. Brian

    Likely the monitor has speakers, and isn't reporting to Windows when it's turned off, so Windows continues to try and use those speakers. Just go into sound settings and choose the builtin speakers instead when the monitor is off, or disconnect the HDMI cable.
