My current screen is suddenly flickering / jittering. I connected my laptop to a monitor, and it seems like my laptop's screen is broken.

My current / stock panel is the AUOD0ED B156HAN13.0 from AUO

Are there any Compatible Laptop Screens for my PH315-52-54KC?
I am trying to upgrade mine to a panel with 100% sRGB and I would like to check if these panels are compatible or safe to install on my laptop.

[These models consume 3.7W Max on the Display Driver while my stock panel uses 3.25W and these also use slightly more amperes]

  1. NV156FHM-NY8
  2. AUO5895 B156HAN12.H
  3. AUOB78D B156HAN09.2

These 3 panels are my safe bet, but they don't offer 100% sRGB. These run lower wattages or slightly more than my stock panel

  1. B156HAN13.1 (exact same with my current panel but has a diff model name)
  2. Innolux N156HRA-EA1 (slightly better color gamut than my current panel)
  3. LG LP156WFJ-SPB1
  4. LG LP156WFJ-SPB3

All Screens listed uses a 40 Pin eDP 1.3 or 1.4 with 0.5mm Pin Pitch which means the pin should fit but unsure if my laptop's eDP pin out aligns with the aftermarket screen's pin out

Also is there a datasheet or info that shows how much watts, amperes and voltages my motherboard to the internal display / screen since It's hard to find good color gamut panels that use less power than my current screen.

Also is there an information about my current laptop model screen flex pin out diagram.

I am currently watching guides and reading posts on upgrading screens, I don't think they mention of the new replacement panel having higher power consumption / requirements than their stock / old screen panel.

Thanks in Advance. May our Frames be high and Temps be low

Here's my spreadsheet for the screen panels I found

These are the only 40pin connector screens that Acer lists in the PH315-52 laptops service guide that you should upgrade to as they are compatible and were fitted to the laptop :

    • AUO B156HAN08.2 (2.8mm) (40pin) (300nits) 60Hz-144Hz – Acer P/N: KL.15605.053
    • BOE NV156FHM-N4K (2.6mm) (40pin) (300nits) 60Hz-144Hz – Acer P/N: KL.1560E.016

Thanks I'll try to find and install the BOE NV156FHM-N4K on my unit. Hope it works, I'll report back if it works or not

Seems like the pin outs of my current screen is different from the pin out of the Interface connector used in the NV156FHM-N4K ( STM MSAK24025P40 )

Can I get a clarification if it will or won't work? I don't know if my laptop's flex cable supports different pin outs (if it's plug and play regardless of the pin out of the Interface used by the replacement screen as long as it's eDP 1.4 and has pin pitch of 0.5mm)

    Thanks in Advance

There are two different 40 pin eDP cables for this laptop, see caption below, so maybe the eDP cable on your laptop needs to be changed to the other eDP cable, sorry I don't know which was fitted oem to your PH315-52 laptop. as all the screens listed above for the PH315-52 laptop will fit and work.

Can you link the service guide for PH315-52 series? it could really help me a lot.

The pin out of IPEX 20765-040E-11A (used by my Laptop) is compatible with STM MSAK24025P40

the datasheet is from a screen named Innolux Q101IRE-LA1 which uses STM MSAK24025P40. Both the B156HAN8.4, B156HAN13.0 and NV156FHM-NY8 has a voltage range of 5V/12V/21V on the backlight and 3.3V on the interface so I think the MSAK24025P40 won't have problems matching the 5V/12V/21V power spec that my current screen has.

I also checked the datasheet of the PH315-54 series. Acer listed 3 different eDP cables. One for 120Hz & 144Hz, One for 165Hz, and One for 360Hz

These are the 144Hz panels for the PH315-54 but they use different Interfaces so I guess it's safe to assume they are cross compatible?

    • LP156WFG-SPF3 ( Uses interface HD1S040HA2 by JAE )
    • NV156FHM-N4K v3.2 ( Uses interface 20455-040E-66 by I-PEX )
    • B156HAN09.2 ( Uses interface 20765-040E-11A by I-PEX )
    • B156HAN08.4 ( Uses interface 20765-040E-11A by I-PEX)
    • N156HRA-EA1 ( Uses interface 20455-040E-12 by I-PEX )

I also checked the datasheet of the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 and they listed two eDP cables. One for 60Hz (probably the 30 pin version) and one for 120Hz & 144Hz (40 pin)

They listed panels from different manufacturers and they have different interfaces (and pin outs)

    • LP156WFG-SPF3 ( Uses interface HD1S040HA2 by JAE )
    • NV156FHM-N4K v3.2 ( Uses interface 20455-040E-66 by I-PEX )
    • B156HAN08.4 ( Uses interface 20765-040E-11A by I-PEX)
    • LM156LF2F03 ( Uses interface 20455-040E-66 by I-PEX)
    • N156HRA-EA1 ( Uses interface 20455-040E-12 by I-PEX )

But oddly they also listed a 360Hz panel (NE156FHM-ZS3)

There is nothing more in regards to screen, eDP or pin outs specs or any captions in the service guide that will help you out, as all the spec info that you need I've provided for you, the rest is just how to take the screen out and other parts apart for the laptop. Plus, Ace ranked members that have access to these service guides are not allowed to supply Acer service guides as its against Acer community EULA, hope you understand, as we can give you advice and help members only.
