Ive installed w11 but its keep shuting down randomly. W10 works great but that laptop should have w11 since most of hardware related features are accesible on w11. Anyone experienced this ? Laptop isnt broken or anything ( confirmed by diagnosis software and local service point)

Hi, I recommend upgrading BIOS to last July version 2024/07/09 1.15 that addresses AMD processor issues with Windows 11 23H2. Then try to upgrade to W11 again.

The AN515-46 laptop is a 100% compatible Win-11 OS laptop and should work perfectly with that OS and not crash. What are the BSOD blue screen codes that you are getting? As that should be a guide to why your laptop is crashing, as no laptop just crashes randomly and continually with Win-11 if its designed for Win-11, your laptop must have some hardware faults and issues for it to crash like that.

What I suggest is that and if the Win-10 OS operates without any crashes, that you do the bios and firmware updates below for the AN515-46 through that OS first and see if it fixes the crashes after you install the new Win-11 version 24H2.

To do the clean install of the new Win-11 version 24H2 OS and all its windows updates to its last OS build: 26100.2033, this is what you need to do, here is the standalone .ISO download  5.4GB: English and for a clean install you need to construct a bootable installation USB with Rufus 4.5 and put the above .ISO file on it (follow the Rufus guide) and then do a clean install of the new Win-11 version 24H2 and see if the new Win-11 doesn’t crash with all the new bios and firmware updates. Good luck and hope this helps you out and solves your Win-11 crashing with the AN515-46 laptop.

Go to the Acer Support page for the AN515-46 and download these bios and firmware files:

    • Update the bios to the last version 1.15
    • Update the GPU VBIOS firmware to the version 1.00a
    • Update the boot drive firmware if you have the WD M.2 SSD to the version v61507100

Hi , everything from above is made and crash anyway. Its hard to tell since there is only log in event monitor ( system isnt creating minidump file ).

Then unfortunately your AN515-46 laptops mainboard is faulty and needs to be repaired by a specialist technician and/or and maybe replaced with a new mainboard which is not worth replacing as its more expensive than a new Nitro laptop.

These are all the different mainboards that Acer fitted to the Nitro AN515-46 so see if you can buy a used one from this list as they will fit:

Do the bios update under Win-10 OS as that OS doesn't crash, as Win-11 if it crashes mid way through the bios flash it will brick your laptop bios chip. Afterwards, install the new Win-11 24H2 as that is the latest OS. Good luck.

That's what I had recommended on the first place 😉

As I've recommended above, do ALL these bios and firmware updates not just the bios update, through Win-10 which doesn't crash, go to the Acer Support page for the AN515-46 and download these bios and firmware files:

    • Update the bios to the last version 1.15
    • Update the GPU VBIOS firmware to the version 1.00a
    • Update the boot drive firmware if you have the WD M.2 SSD to the version v61507100
