Regarding upgrades to acer predator orion 5000 po5-65-UR13.upgrading CPU cooler with Noctua NH-U12A

This is my PC for reference:

So I've had a bit of problems regarding the CPU cooling, something which I have learned is a bit common with this model.
Therefore I'm thinking of upgrading the CPU cooler with the Noctua NH-U12A which I have heard should be pretty good for this prebuilt. Is that a good take? Also I'm thinking of using the old CPU cooler as an extra top exhaust to pull more air into the front top of the case.

Finally I want to increase the amount of ram to 32 gb, but I don't know if I should pick the:
Corsair Vengeance DDR5-7200 - 32GB - CL34 - Dual Channel
or the
G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-7200 SL C34 DC - 32GB

Am I missing anything else that could improve the cooling?

yeah, the Noctua NH-U12A is the largest cooler that will fit in our case. i have had mine a year now and i love it and would never use anything else. the only thing i did was put cooler master high velocity mobius argb fans on it.

when it comes to DDR5 that's a little different than normal because we have this acer branded mb that's locked with minimal settings. i tried corsair dominator platinum X series 6200 and it was causing cut scenes in my games to go in slow motion. so, i returned it and am using the 4x16 crucial 4800 i bought over a year ago it works flawless.

now i cannot be sure it was that memory causing my issues or NVidia drivers. a few days after putting the memory in and updating the NVidia drivers to 546.33 i started noticing the problem only when gaming. so, as a test i rolled back my drivers to 537.58 the last known stable release and put back in my 4x16@4800 and no issues at all.

and no, you are missing nothing on cooling the only thing you can try is setting all fans to 100% in predator sense and see if that helps. you can also try 2x120mm fans as exhaust on the top mount before putting in the cooler and see if that helps.

but seeing yours came with a 13700F and 4080 and mine came with a 12700F and 3070 you may need the better cooler and fans on top as exhaust.

and remember ambient room temperature is the biggest factor here. i have been doing extensive testing all winter long with my pc sucking in cold air from outside when gaming WOW is all i can say.

Thank you for your response. I also thought the Noctua NH-U12A would be a good pick since that is what most people refer to.

Now all I'm left to wonder about is the most optimal ram...

Although I have started a new thread regarding that subject since it seems a bit more complex...

well just buy it from a place it can be returned to, and keep this in mind, i bought that high end DDR5 and ran many tests with it vs my 2x16@4800 and 4x16@4800 and it barely outperformed the 2x16 and didn't even come close to the 4x16. so, it doesn't really matter. if we had a better mb and could use 2x32 that would be the best option but we can't.

was just wondering how well this cooler had worked out for you, I also have a (P05-650-UR13) predator orion 5000 with a i7-13700f and the rtx 4080. And am having some cooling issues was wanting to upgrade so was just wondering how well it worked out for you

well, there are slightly better ones now that are a lot cheaper like this.

We know that the Noctua NH-U12A works and works well in the PO5 models, so that's first choice. We don't know for sure that the Thermalright linked above is as easy of an install as the Noctua, but it is quite a bit less expensive.

I just want to get something that forsure works, as I have never really built a pc or worked on one. But I do have the i7-13700f so I just wanted to make sure it would fit on my mb but my temps range from 140 degrees to 200 degrees depending on the game I play but I want to steam but wasn’t sure if I should use the pc as just the game playing pc and stream through capture card and laptop or just upgrade my cooling

was just wondering if u had to put the back plate on, like do you have to take the mb out to install the noctua

With the Noctua there is no need to remove the back plate, just use M3x10mm screws instead of what's supplied with the stock backplate.

well, the Noctua Nh-U12A is an excellent cooler but that thermal right one cools about 48 more watts on average and its a lot cheaper if it was around i would have bought that over the Noctua because it's a better value+performance.
