As in the title my Laptops display started to develop a horizontal glitching lines a month ago at 144Hz but was working fine at 60Hz, same happens with acer boot screen and BIOS.

I have Tried:

  1. Reinstalled Drivers
  2. DDU all display drivers and reinstalled
  3. Rolled back to Older Nvidia Drivers
  4. reinserted display cable into motherboard
  5. Upgraded to latest Nvidia drivers using the Nvidia App
  6. Ran sfc /scannow

Currently using CRU to use display at a lower refresh rate. Wanted to know of a solution other then the usual screen replacement and the cause of this problem.

Also wanted to know how to get display out of HDMI in BIOS as I cant get it to work with eDP cable removed and closing the lid after powering on laptop with hdmi connected.

Attaching pics of broken display.

You can't get BIOS on the external display because it is programmed to be displayed in your primary monitor which is your laptop display. The only way I think that you can get it to display onto your external monitor was if you disconnected your internal display, and I wouldn't recommend you go through so much trouble just to get the BIOS on your external display.

As for your glitching issue at a high refresh rate, I think this might be caused by a loose monitor connector which may somehow be limiting the bandwidth of the signal. This may happen if the display cable somehow gets pinched in the hinges and comes loose due to that. I'd recommend you take it to the service center to get the cable checked out. However, if you're confident in your tinkering skills, you can also open up the laptop yourself and reseat the display connector, though there's a high chance this will void your warranty.

To connect an external monitor to your Nitro AN515-55 you will need a HDMI v2.1 cable and you need to plug the external monitor into theAB515-55 HDMI v2.1 port on the right side, as that should work perfectly, I cant see what your problem is?

Right side AN515-55 HDMI 2.1 port, this is the only way that you can connect an external monitor to this laptop as it hasent got a USB-C Thunderbolt port for display out.

My warranty ended in 2022, I had tried removing eDP from MB but still got no BIOS on external monitor. I guess I'll just have to take it to a technician, thank you all for your responses 😊.
