Hello everyone!

I have just completely reinstalled Windows 11 for my Acer Nitro 5 from a USB, and so need to setup the laptop from scratch.

Have already installed updates for Windows itself.

Now, the update center is offering to OPTIONALLY install the Insyde Software - Firmware 5.43.2.14?

Seems like this is a BIOS-related update.

My PC is shutting down and starting perfectly well. So I am not sure if I should get this update.

Thank you for your help!

Should I install Insyde Software - Firmware 5.43.2.14 from Windows (optional) update? Acer Nitro 5

You should not install the Insyde Software - Firmware 5.43.2.14 update from Windows Update on your Acer Nitro 5 laptop.

These types of BIOS updates from Windows Update can often cause compatibility issues and even brick the laptop. Several users have reported problems after installing similar Insyde firmware updates through Windows Update.

It is generally recommended to only install BIOS updates directly from the manufacturer's website, as they can better ensure compatibility and stability. Downloading and installing the BIOS update from Acer's support site would be a safer approach.

Since your laptop is currently functioning properly, it's best not to risk installing the optional Windows Update firmware update. Stick with the standard Windows updates for now and only update the BIOS if Acer specifically recommends it for your model or if you face any problem.

If you google that firmware in Microsoft approved software catalog, you will see this:

It's perfectly safe to install May 2024 Acer BIOS version 2.14, also available at Acer Support. I always accept optional updates from Windows11.

HEY, I accidentally install Insyde Software - Firmware - 5.43.2.14, now im having issues with my laptop, like with my internet connection. I also cant log in some website shows only "Verifying you are human. This may take a few seconds." Im stuck with that page. is there any fix to this and is this also covered by the warranty?

Hi, I replied to your other thread, this laptop is from January 2022 so the warranty may have expired. The Internet issue you have is not related to BIOS, just reset network in Windows11

i checked my warranty email from acer and it says my warranty expiration sets to expire on march 27,2025. I bought my laptop year 2023.

    Hi,

I just upgraded my Acer laptop (CN516-72G) to WIndows 11. Windows Update is offering me the latest Insyde Software - Firmware - 5.43.1.4 update. I read here that I should only install it from the Acer site instead of MS as past users had issues, but I don't see it listed in my available BIOS/Firmware or Drivers downloads on the Acer site. Is that a red flag that I should NOT install this update from MS? Should I just wait for it to show up again in the Acer list? Has anyone installed the latest Insyde firmware update from Windows Update? Thanks in advance for any replies.

it's generally advised against installing optional Insyde Software firmware updates from Windows Update, unless you have a specific reason to do so or are experiencing issues that the update is intended to fix.

Some users have reported problems after installing Insyde firmware updates through Windows Update, including BIOS corruption. If your system is functioning normally, it's best to avoid the risk of installing an optional firmware update that might cause problems.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
