Trying to play some of the newer games and I was wondering if it is even possible with this model? Also, what type to buy and everything else…

Install CPUz and afterwards go to this software's SPD #1 and SPD#5 sections (if your laptop has 2x ram modules fitted) to see the exact ram manufacturer and specification ram that is installed in your Nitro AN515-57, it should be DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram, as shown in the chart above, as this laptop can have a max total capacity of 64GB into its 2x ram slots.

Go to Crucial Ram also for the Acer Nitro AN515-57 RAM & SSD Upgrades as they sell reasonably priced compatible ram for this model laptop. Good luck and hope this further helps you out.

That will work as its an 8GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram and that is the compatible ram for your AN515-57. Your laptop comes oem with 8GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL 22 from Acer and if you add this Crucial ram you will have 2x 8GB DDR4-3200MYT/s CL22 ram modules running in dual channel, and in CPUz it should read like this:

This is what your Nitro 5 AN515-57 CPUz Memory section should read like after fitting the new Crucial DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 ram module, which is 16GB total ram running in dual channel and in Task Manager the speed should read @ 3200MT/s :

Task Manager should read like this:
