Hibernation no longer works after update Win 10 in Aspire A515-56

I have a Aspire A515-56. Windows 10 did unauthorized updates on my laptop and after words when I press my power button the computer no longer hibernates. In power options I have hibernation checked and it works under start —> shutdown options. But the power button does nothing and it is selected to hibernate under "what to do when the power button is pressed". I actually had a system restore I created a while back and went back to it (system restore showed 6 windows updates were installed since my last created restore point). I went back to that restore before those updates and VOLA! it worked just like before. Well today, it updated again and the same problem happened. This time it deleted my old system restore date so I can no longer go back.

A search online found someone with the similar problem. Saying the update corrupted his "ACPI Fixed Features Button" driver and he said he uninstalled it then ran "sfc" /scannow" and it reinstalled it fixing the problem. I unfortunately do not know if the Acer has ACPI driver so I don't know what brand of laptop this individual fixed this on.

I know I can just go to start, but I like to easily hibernate if I need to rush out of the office or something. I am hoping someone knows a fix I can try because 3 hours of Googling didn't help me come to any fixes.

Microsoft recommends disabling Hibernate and Fast Startup for Windows10-11, as these options interfere with Modern Standby and causes power issues, in "Change what closing the lid does" and in "Change settings currently unavailable". Windows should not install updates automatically, set the option to ask you first in Advanced "Check for updates.

"Change settings currently unavailable" is not even listed for me in Control Panel > Power Options.

I have tried enabling hibernation with CMD powercfg method and reg edit described here but I have not been able to get the options to appear in the start menu shutdown option, or assign it to the power button either.

Is it possible to hibernate this hardware in WIN11?

    Hi again,

To answer my own question: if the cmd and regedit methods described online don't work. example here:

Enable or Disable Hibernate in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)

Then disable "Fast Boot" in the bios. The BIOS for the Acer Nitro AN515-57 N20C1 is InsydeH20 Setup Utility and the option was in the "main" page.

Hibernate, and "..settings currently unavailable" are now enabled! Hooray.

If none of the options work better try to reinstall windows and check

Try windows + r - on run window - type "systemreset"

chose remove everything - just remove my files

    It should work fine.

You want to keep Hibernate and Fast Startup disabled in Windows, as soon as you disabled these options you won't get the "Change settings currently unavailable" option.
