Continuing Concept D Issues. The model is a CC314-72G72SX

We bought a Concept D last July 2023 for my son for when he started University. Over the past 12 months it has been returned 3 times for warranty repairs with continual blue screening and even 1 time it got returned to us without a battery. The last repair was 12th June 2024 and upon going back to Uni at the beginning of September 2024 it yet again has now blue screened again. The machine's warranty expired 12th July 2024. I am interested in hearing from someone as to what options we have now. If I return it to the repair center, will it get fixed for a 4th time or as there must be a flaw with this PC model, can it be replaced.

Its always advisable and informative if you give us the exact model number of your ConceptD laptop like and for example CC314-72 or CC314-72G etc as there are many ConceptD laptop models.

With BSODs and blue screens its also informative to take a caption of the different title(s) of these screens that you are getting, as if we know what types of BSODs you are getting, then we can give you a solution. The ConceptD is a flagship Acer product and there shouldn’t be anything drastically wrong with this laptops hardware and/or software, that is if you have set it up correctly and have update the laptops appropriate bios, firmware and all the windows updates and NVidia updates for its graphics. Please give us all the information as its very hard to advise you blindly as there are many reasons that this fine flagship laptop is having BSODs. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Thanks for your response.
    The model is a CC314-72G72SX
The laptop was setup following the process when it was purchased new and drivers etc were updated when advised available.
In the Acer system there will be Cade ID 112958CA, 117429CA and a 3rd but i don't have that available at this time but it should be in the Acer System, The Case ID 112958CA they actually replaced the motherboard and SSD. I received the image below from my Son Tuesday 3rd Sept 2024 when we was back at Uni. We had to travel to pick this up again this weekend so he is again without a laptop for Uni until this gets repaired or we replace with something else. Cheers

If you want to fix that BSOD go and see the Microsoft BAD_POOL_CALLER error as the cause of this error is an invalid pool request that has been made by the current thread. Typically, this is at a bad IRQL level or double freeing the same memory allocation, etc. means that you will need to revert to a previous configuration of Win-10 OS to fix this error but this error might not be all that is giving the OS BSODs.

What I suggest as the best fix and the best thig to do is to do a Clean Install of Win-10 or even Win-11 23H2 version OS but be aware that Win-11 is newer and a better OS than Win-10 for this latop that can operate on both, as Win-10 full support will end from Microsoft in September 2025 and allot of its security updates will end too.

To do a Clean Install, you need to construct a Win-10 Version: 22H2 USB or a Win-11 23H2 installation bootable USB on a 16GB USB with Rufus 4.5 booting software and download either the latest Win-10 Version 22H2 .ISO or and what I suggest is to use the Win-11 23H2 OS .ISO and put this file onto the USB, then download the ConceptD CC314-72G laptops IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver - version: 17.8.0.1065 from the Acer support page for this laptop, as you will need this IRST driver for either the Win-10 OS or the Win-11 OS installation when you get to the section of > Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver > as this driver will allow the Win10 or Win-11 installation to recognize the boot M.2 SSD drive and then you can continue the installation and finish the windows installation completely.

After the Win10 22H2 or the Win-11 23H2 installation is finished, make sure that the following is done:

    1. Make sure all windows updates are updated with all its Optional windows updates > Drivers that may include an available firmware that is there,
    2. Install the NVidia GeForce Experience software and do a scan with this software which will download the latest NVidia gpu driver for your ConceptD CC314-72G laptop, GTX1650 or GTX1650Ti gpu.
    3. Note: do this only and after the Windows OS is installed and operating perfectly without any BSODs then upgrade the ConceptD last bios version 1.10 and the available firmware version: CC314.v0003r00, as if you get a BSOD mid-way through a bios or firmware update you will brick the laptops bios chip or if you do an available gpu firmware update, then the gpu will be bricked, so be very careful.

As doing all these bios. firmware and driver updates is essential for this latop as it will ensure that your laptop is functioning with its required drivers that are need for this excellent Acer high-end laptop to operate at its peak and best without any BSODs. If your expertise is not up to this level, I suggest that you get someone or an experienced technician that can do this for your son. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    HOW TO FIX BAD_POOL_CALLER ERROR

    1. Turn off your PC by pressing and holding the power button, then wait and press it again turn it back on. When you see your PC manufacturer's logo, turn the PC off again. Repeat the process until you see a Please wait message.
    2. On the next screen, select Troubleshoot, then choose Advanced options > Startup Settings.
    3. Select the Restart button.
    4. When your PC restarts this time, you can choose how to start. Choose last known good configuration
    5. Make sure that your drivers are current. In the search box on the taskbar, type drivers, and then select Device Manager from the list of results. In Device Manager at the top, select Scan for hardware changes. Select the Start  button, then select Power  > Restart.

Appreciate your replay. What you have detailed above is way above my expertise and I would need to go and pay someone to do this with the hope of it fixing the continuing issue we have had with this laptop. Considering that we would be lucky to have 6 months of usage over the past 12 months based on the poor performance of this model of laptop I am not really interested in spending more money to fix it.
We have had many laptops and this is the worst one we have had. Cheers

I don't know where you bought this laptop from as the ConceptD model number CC314-72G is a 4 years old 2020 released laptop, so its not new and its not sold new, so and if you bought this as a refurbished or as a used laptop then this laptop might have had issues when you bought the laptop and that is why the previous owner sold the laptop, as a new ConceptD laptop are reliable and do not perform like that and has these BSODs!

Also, the ConceptD is Acer premium high-end model(s) and its a very fine laptop, if you know how to set it up as its really a specialist laptop for high end users of the Acer product, but in saying all this, you should NOT be having these problems and especially so many BSODs and your only option(s) is to do what I've suggested above as the laptop has a new mainboard so its a software thing or it could be a simple thing like bad ram or a M.2 SSD drive so check that out also. Good luck and hope that I've given you some other options to look at and get this laptop operational👍

The Laptop as purchased new from Amazon Prime during last year's prime sale days. It definitely wasn't advertised as a refurbished unit. Cheers

Try to contact Amazon and have Amazon replace this laptop or give you a partial refund, as you were sold a bad laptop or even damaged laptop that has issues and no wonder it was on their "Amazon Prime during last year's prime sale days". its worth a try.
