I have a Nitro 5 AN515-57, with I9 11900, and an RTX 3060. The RTX used to have problems that when i boot up the laptop it have to be disabled and enabled to function, it's fixed after a bios update.

This time the problem came from the igpu, because everytime i played Genshin Impact, in my playtime the IGPU suddenly spikes to 100% usage reducing the FPS to 10 and when i exit the game the igpu stays in like 80-90% for awhile making my laptop slow for a few minutes until it drops to like 20-40% then my laptop back to its usual performance. This only happens when i played genshin, other games are usually fine.

Ive already tried

-updating bios

-reinstall the UHD driver

-installing a new driver

What should i do to fix it?

Some users have found that reinstalling Genshin Impact or adjusting its settings can resolve performance issues specific to the game.

Also Use Task Manager to identify and close any unnecessary applications that might be using the iGPU. It could be any game-related software or launcher running on the iGPU that is causing instability. If you can close the launcher while playing, then do so; if not, set the launcher settings for performance preference. You may find video or information on this topic on Google or YouTube.

So i just re played the game again and apparently, the game decides to use intel UHD instead of the 3060, i opened my task manager and the Nvidia overlay, for a few minutes of gameplay the game used RTX shown that the GPU usage is in the 60-70 percent, and then when the spike happens the RTX usage goes down to like 10-20% and the UHD graphics goes to 100%

So what should i do about this? Tbh, im tempted to disable the UHD graphics, but it seems its not recommended to do that.

  • From Nvidia Software-

Set a specific game to run on your dedicated GPU (dGPU) instead of the integrated GPU (iGPU) using the NVIDIA Control Panel, follow these steps:

    1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel: Right-click on your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" from the context menu.
    2. Manage 3D Settings: In the Control Panel, navigate to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.
    3. Program Settings Tab: Click on the Program Settings tab. Here, you can customize settings for individual applications.
    4. Select Your Game: From the dropdown menu, choose the game you want to configure. If it's not listed, click Add and browse to the game's executable (.exe) file.
    5. Set Preferred Graphics Processor: In the second dropdown menu, select High-performance NVIDIA processor. This ensures that the game will use the dedicated GPU.
    6. Save Changes: Click Apply to save your settings.

After completing these steps, the selected game should run using the NVIDIA dGPU, improving performance during gameplay.

    From Windows graphics Settings-

set a specific game to run on your dedicated GPU (dGPU) instead of the integrated GPU (iGPU) using Windows Graphics Settings, follow these steps:

    1. Open Graphics Settings: Click on the Start menu, type "Graphics Settings," and select it from the results.
    2. Choose App Type: In the Graphics Settings window, select Desktop app from the dropdown menu.
    3. Add Your Game: Click on Browse to locate the game's executable file (.exe). Once found, select it and click Add.
    4. Set Graphics Preference: After adding the game, click on it in the list, and then click on Options.
    5. Choose High performance to ensure the game uses the dedicated GPU.
      • Let Windows decide (default)
      • Power saving (iGPU)
      • High performance (dGPU)
    6. Save Changes: Click Save to apply your settings.

This configuration will direct the selected game to utilize the dGPU, enhancing its performance during gameplay.

Note- Set both windows graphics settings and nvdia software settings for game to use Dgpu with no interference.
