Acer Swift 3 SF314-43-R2YY Keyboard not working

My Swift 3's keyboard isn't working. It started a few months ago with my 2, A, W, and Z keys then slowly spread to the rest of my keyboard. My power button still works, but everything else doesn't. This is the second time this has happened, and the first time the fix was to run a new install of Windows. I don't want to resort to that quite yet if I can. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could try?

Already tried:

  • updating keyboard drivers in Device Manager
  • uninstalling device in Device Manager

Mid 2022 laptop may still have warranty, I recommend bringing it to Acer Services in your country to replace the keyboard, this is not an expensive repair.

You need a new keyboard; your laptop is a 2021 laptop and its way out of warranty. The keyboard symptoms when letters and numbers are not registering when a key is pressed is due to wear and tear of the keys and they can be fixed, see the LaptopKey for key replacements for Acer laptops keuboards.

If you can't get the appropriate keys for this laptop then you need to get the keyboard replaced for your language as there are many UPPER CASE ASSY for the SF314-43-XXXX laptops. You can get a replacement keyboard from eBay or Amazon for most English language speaking parts but if you need another language then you will need to buy the Acer upper case with the language keyboard that you require. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

The 2, W, A, Z pattern suggests a problem with the internal membranes in the keyboard. That is usually caused by damage due to a spill rather than gunk in the keys themselves. That it then migrated elsewhere in the keyboard tends to suggest the contamination has been spreading. You might be in an environment with higher humidity that helps keep whatever is in there spreading. Likely you are going to have to replace the keyboard to get it fully fixed, which isn't inexpensive. Unless you have an extended warranty or you live in a locale with a longer than typical warranty period you are likely going to have to pony up for the cost yourself. If you can let us know what language the keyboard is designed for, the color of your laptop and whether the keyboard has a backlight or not we can look up part numbers for you.

I have the same issue, MFG 2022/07/13 (its an SF314-43, but 2 of the 4 letters after that have rubbed off aside from ending in NE), I've tried dis/reconnecting the keyboard connector etc, and I also have had the "contamination" spread to more and more keys (I live in Virginia where it's very humid, so that might explain it). The part number(? It's whatever comes up when I scan the QR code) for my exact keyboard (silver, backlit) is NC2461106GL530461ATUC1. The only SF314-43 keyboard I've found is a shady-seeming reseller on eBay and Amazon, there's also one on laptopkeyboards.com but it's very expensive. Where is somewhere I can find this keyboard?

Acer only sells the Upper Case Assembly that includes the backlight keyboard for this laptop as a one piece (see caption below) and not the keyboard only, the US International language Acer part number is 6B.AB2N2.001 (as there are at least 80 different languages for this upper case) so search the web with a search of and like “Swift SF314-43 upper case assembly acer part # 6B.AB2N2.001” as this part is available at Acer US but it is available from Acer Canada or Laptopparts.ca and it aint cheat at a retail price of CAD $239.99 which is USD $177.14 as this part is available. If you don't want to spend that sort of money then buy just the keyboard from a shady retailer on eBay or Amazon 😀that are copies of the oem Acer keyboard , but be aware that these parts might be slightly different and not exactly the same as the oem Acer part? Good luck and hope this helps you out

  • Hello! I advise you to try disconnecting the lithium battery and the keyboard connector:

If the problem persists, there may be a problem with the keyboard.

There is also another part number for the US/International silver with backlight:

The number posted above by Steven doesn't have the backlit option.
