Hello everyone! Recently purchased Acer Veriton M4640G (SNID XXXXXXXXXXX) with a Intel Core i5-6500 processor. I want to install one of the more powerful Intel Core i7 processors. Does it support Intel Core i7-6700 and Intel Core i7-6700T (low power consumption) processors? Will they work? Thanks everyone for your answers and information!

Yes, as long as you stay in that same 65W or less TDP you are fine. Note that you will not see very much speed improvement, but the 6th gen CPUs are pretty cheap on the secondary market. For performance, look to booting from a SSD and raising the memory before anything else.

Thanks for the answer! Is there no intentional blocking of Intel Core i7 processors in the BIOS? For creating a more energy efficient and "cool" computer, is the Intel Core i7-6700T (35W TDP) processor preferable?

No reason to block in the BIOS, that takes extra effort on the BIOS programmers, so costs more when designing a model line. The T processor should run cooler than the standard one.
