Multiple brand new R753T in my fleet having the same battery issue:
-CROSH>battery not detected
-battery status - stuck at 1% charging
-battery status - battery is full(this is not true)
-Chromebook must remain plugged in, in order to turn on and use.

I've swapped batteries, reseated cables, run the CRU but the issue remains. I'm leaning towards a defective mainboard.

Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

Thank you!!

We have seen reports of similar symptoms on several models over the last few years, with no real luck with diagnosis as to a root cause. The issue is rare enough that there just hasn't been a good drill down into finding what's actually going on. Sometimes a battery replacement fixes it, sometimes a new battery acts the same way.

Similar problem. I have an R753T that I've replaced the battery (AP18C8K) and the battery status icon has a lightning bolt even though it is not on the charger, and it will not calculate a duration time, but the percentage of charge is accurate. The battery is from Amazon. Most of the time it will not start up unless it's on a charger, then the charger can be unplugged and it operates fine. It's August 2024 and I'm wondering if a solution has been found. Thanks!!

I've continue to have this issue with my fleet of R753T. The only solution I've found is replacing the battery, mainboard or both.

Note - I've also sent a handful of my problem devices to Acer for repair and the service notes provided from them are also replacement of battery, mainboard or both.
