I purchased Acer aspire 7 i5 12th generation in August. From these past months it is working fine until yesterday. My laptop suddenly started lagging when Battery level went below 30% and I was unable to use even google chrome properly. I also noticed that the CPU Speed got to 0.32ghz, sometimes below but never increased. As soon as I plug in the ac adapter, the laptop starts to work normally again but started lagging again when I unplug the ac adapter. I tried changing power options and also tried to reset battery with the help of battery reset pin hole but still no improvements. I tried to update bios but bios is on its latest version. What should I do in this situation?

You should not be letting the battery drop much below 50% charge level under load, including Chrome a notorious resource hog.

In fact, battery should be near 100% charged and plugged in if you plan to do very heavy loads in which both the battery and the charger must work together to meet the power demand. During these heavy load times, the battery will discharge even though plugged in. If the battery drops below 50%, charging will take precedent over CPU and GPU power demands and the CPU frequencies will automatically be throttled.

I agree, keep your power adapter plugged-in and make sure the battery is always fully charged especially when gaming. There are no benefits disconnecting the power adapter even when the laptop is turned off.

Thanks but I want to know that on some articles they told that it must be issue of battery or charger fault. So can you please let me know that my laptop battery and charger is good or its faulty or its issue of any other software of hardware components, because i don't think so i purchased my laptop two months ago. And i am keeping it nin very good condition and proper usage.

Ignore these articles. They don't apply to your laptop. Do not worry about an issue that does not exist. Your laptop seems to be fine.

This is so stupid and unnecessary to say. i Just bought a powerfull laptop and got the same problem. I also have a old acer nitro 5 which Does every task ON battery power with ease. And the acer nitro 5 is on power saving mode. My new laptop wich is much much more powerfull starts lagging and gets really slow at 30% battery. its not meant to do that.

( And yes, i have tried high power preformance but nothing on the new laptop. The prossesor is jumping between 2.66 GHZ to 3.40. and the laptop is also debloated.

If any1 found a solution please comment

Keep charge level above 50% for best performance.
