Predator Helios 300 - Some keyboard key are not working

Hello,

I bought the Predator Helios 300 around 4 months ago through Amazon, and like 5 days ago some keys in my keyboard are not working, those keys are 'y', 'd' and number '4' on the upper number keyboard pad.

I would like to know how to solve this issue. I already tried reinstalling the drivers for the keyboard but the issue persists.

Thanks for your help.

@Palvz Have you uninstalled the KB driver from Device Manager, exit Device Manager and rebooted the machine to let Windows automatically re-detect and re-install the driver? Jack E/NJ

Just did it and "d" "y" and "4" still don't work. Any other recommendations? :/

If the keys still don't work with caplocks on, or using the shift key for upper case or other functions, you can try re-seating the KB ribbon cable connector to the mainboard. This requires removing the bottom case to access the ribbon and connector. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then the top assembly must be replaced since the keyboard is integrated. This is best handled under ACER warranty repair service. Jack E/NJ

@JackE Does the opening of the laptop void the warranty cause i have the same issue?

@Philip0301  If it were mine, I wouldn't risk it and arrange for a warranty repair ASAP. Go here and enter your machine's serial number id (SNID) https://www.acer.com/ac/de/AT/content/support  Jack E/NJ

Hello everyone, I found the fix solution, you have to go windows settings / easy of access / then enable filter keys . you can turn off the Beep and display options from it. Then go to control panel /device manager / keyboards / unistall standard PS/2 keyboard.  then reboot the laptop. it will fix the problem at all. :D

    Hi ,
there is a good chance that you didn't put the connect as you have should if you have opened your laptop or it simply moved out by time.
Open up your laptop and simply push (carefully ) your connect to its place.
This worked for me it might be a software issue for you.

Borrowing the picture from above - it's not my same model - which is the Acer Predator ph315-51 78np - but still applies
My situation was the same, some keys were not working.
Tried the removal and re-installation of the keyboard driver, etc.
    Nothing worked.
But when I opened up the case to check the connections, in my case the keyboard connection was only locked in on one side.
The the big red circle (that I added - bottom middle) on this picture that I borrowed is where the keyboard connection is that I'm talking about.
As soon as I locked in the other side and booted it up with the case still off for testing - all keys started working right away.
Hope this helps somebody out there.  As I'm out of warranty and the keyboard replacements are a bit expensive.
Would probably have just bought another laptop as this is a really nice unit when all the keys work lol.

Thanks to everyone who suggested the cable solution.
I had the right side of my keyboard not working well… I removed the connector, cleaned it and put it back.
    Now everything works great!
