Will an Acer Predator GM7000 SSD, with graphene heatsink attached, fit inside an Acer Predator G3-571 without being so close to other components that any negative effects would occur ?

I know the SSD is a Gen 4 and I can't access all the speed it offers but I want the newer version so I can transfer it to another laptop later.

It will fit but the GM7000 doesn’t stand out significantly against the less expensive fastest drives like the SK Hynix Platinum P41 (see link) and WD Black SN850X that don't require heatsinks. Platinum P41 SSD – SK hynix SSD

The Acer Predator GM7000 M.2 SSD is a Gen 4 x4 interface (and will work as its backward compatible) but this drive is really an overkill for your Predator G3-571 laptop as it will never ever use its full performance read/write speed(s), your laptops boot M.2 slot is a PCIe3 x4 NVMe @ 8Gb/s x4 Fast data transfer rate (Mbits / sec, max) which its M.2 slot runs at 50% slower than a Gen 4x4 M.2 SSD does.

It would be much cheaper, and you would get a much better and more compatible performance if you upgrade the M.2 SSD of your laptop drive to a fast Gen 3 x4 M.2 SSD like either the 1TB or 2TB SK Hynix Gold P31 - speed 3,518 or the Samsung 970 EVO Plus - speed 3,434 M.2 drives that are the two fastest tested Gen 3x4 M.2 SSDs. Try that as these drives will perform much better in your laptop, good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Puraw and StevenGen, Thanks for your responses.

The P41 and Adata XPG Gammix S70 Blade were my other selections. One review said teh P41 runs very hot and apparently it doesn't came with a heatsink. I looked at the suggested Gen 3 SSDs and they are more expensive than the Gen4s.

Since the Adata XPG Gammix S70 Blade comes with a very thin heatsink, is under $90 and has top speed, I think this is my choice.

I understand your thought on the Gen 3 being more suitable to my laptop but the idea is to transfer it to a new laptop later. Thanks again for your responses.

Glad to help you out and its so strange how technology works that the Gen 3 is more expensive now than the Gen 4 M.2 SSDs, its always the same.
