Hi my laptop is 2yrs old but it has stopped charging both through an AC adapter and USC connection.

One day it was working went into sleep mode and hasn't worked since. I have tried the battery reset and power cycle and hasn't worked.

I have checked the pin where the AC adapter fits in and is fine, not even a wobble.

Any suggestions on where to go next? Thanks

Don't know which exact Swift 3 model laptop you have but the symptoms that you are getting is a hardware issue and needs to be analyzed by a technician as its in the power/charging circuitry rails which you can't fix with a reset. Either send your laptop to Acer tech support or get an experienced technician near you to fix your laptop. Good luck.

Hi Colin, I suggest running a battery report first before bringing the laptop to Acer Services, paste this in the command prompt powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and print to Microsoft PDF and attach the PDF file to your reply. The general conjectures in this forum that "This is an almost new battery and therefore battery issues are 100% ruled out" and "when the battery is taken out and the laptop still cannot boot; no battery issues" have been proven incorrect, New batteries can have bad Smart chips, and if the laptop battery circuitry is serial a bad battery or when taken out will block the adapter power supply like the old X-mas tree bulb lights, when you unscrew one bulb all light will go off. 😉

    Hi

I cannot get into the laptop to run the config as you have suggested. I have had a technical guy look at it already. He disconnected the battery and then tried to power up and it still wouldn't.

The laptop has no power so unfortunately no way of me getting into it.

If there is no power on the adapter (battery disconnected) or it doesn't power on, then the technician should know to look at the main power rail mosat and capacitors if they are not shorted and analyze the whole power rail trace of the mainboard. Get that don eto the laptop as that is where the problem is.
