. Two type-C plug .When connected to any USB 3.0 disk it gives error swift SFX14-71G
I have two type-c plugs on my acer swift SFX14-71G. When i try to use them and connect any kind of usb 3.0 disk, it turns out as an error and disk starts to work as a 2.0. Disk is absolutely fine and works as it should on my boyfriend's mac.
How is that even possible and what can i do with it?
Thank you

Use a USB-C-USB3.0 adapter like this ($13 for 2): Amazon.com: Anker USB C Adapter (2 Pack),High-Speed Data Transfer, USB-C to USB 3.0 Female Adapter for MacBook Pro 2020, iPad Pro 2020, Samsung Notebook 9, Dell XPS and More Type C Devices : Electronics

No, the usb 3.0 plugs (which look like a usb-a) work fine, the problem is with both two type-c (they should have up to 950 mbs speed, but in reality they have only 40 mbs). It seems to me as a kind of software problem. I updated the drivers, but it didn't help.

What I was trying to say is that you need to convert your USB-C ports on the laptop to a USB3.0 type with the adapter and plug your USB3.0 disk cable in that adapter.

I understand. But maybe there is another way to solve this problem? What is wrong withthose plugs? My laptop is only 1 year old, it's sad that i can't use it to it's full potential.

Other motherboards may be more flexible than Acer MBs, also the speed of USB3.0 (Gen1) and USB3.1 (Gen2) of your HDD case or SSD is half the speed and maybe that is what you are noticing?
