Laptop: Acer Aspire 16 (model# A16-51GM)

Issue: the power to USB-C won't turn off when the laptop is shut down. I make sure all the USB hubs are set to "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager. I also ensure the Battery & USB Charging setting in Acer Sense is set to "OFF" for the "Power-off UBS Charger" setting.

The USB adapter stays on at night. What else can I do? Please help.

Open Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, check the Properties for each device (especially USB4 Routers) that in Power management "Allow the computer to turn off this device" is checked and that Allow this device to wake up the computer is unchecked. In Windows disable Hibernate and Fast Startup in "Change what closing the lid does" and "Change settings currently unavailable". Shut down the proper way by clicking on the Start icon Taskbar, Power-Shutdown and don't suspend or use Sleep mode by pressing the power button.

Hello @Puraw , thank you for the input, I tried that before I published my inquiry and I checked again after reading your reply. However, it did not resolve the issue.

I'd like to join this discussion. I'm also interested in finding out how to disable the charging of peripheral devices from the laptop when the laptop is completely turned off. In the NitroSense utility settings, there's a switch that allows you to disable peripheral charging when the laptop is in sleep mode, but this doesn't work when the laptop is completely off. The suggestions provided above didn't help resolve this issue.
