Windows 7 is not Genuine?

What have others done when a live Microsoft tech states Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire is not Genuine--was your next step to call Acer or the vendor that sold the computer with the OS?  I called Microsoft after trying to resolve the problem using posted methods (e.g., slui 3, slui 4, and check the registry key at HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20).  Thank you!

the preinstalled windows 7 on your acer aspire is using volume license key which should be genuine.

there is another windows 7 key on the bottom of your notebook. that is the single user version cd key, you can use that to activate ur windows 7 too

Was this after a system crash or brand new? I have 2 laptops (Acer and Everex) and my Everex crashed a few years ago.  I did some updates and did a lot to try to get it to fully function after the crash.  After finally getting the computer to work great, I shut down to finish the last of the updates.  Upon turning back on, the computer wouldn't load Windows (but I have Vista on this one that acted up.) I couldn't get it to take the product key, it kept giving me an error.  All I could do was boot in safe mode, I couldn't even run from a disc! Anyway after entering the whole Windows key and getting the errors, I called the number that came up in the validation error.  (Note that I had been using that computer for a few years but after the crash was the battle with problems.)  Microsoft couldn't get me into my computer with the validation codes they gave me and sent me a copy of Vista (since that one has Vista) and I finally got it working again and right too!

I would talk with Microsoft since it is the software that is giving you problems and they charge you to talk on the phone.  They can be very helpful! I wish you luck and I hope you don't go through the battle I did, turned out that I had corrupted Windows files probably from the crash.

Edit: I know you said that you spoke with Microsoft, but try again maybe it was just the tech that you spoke with.  They can at least tell you who to talk to about the problem.  If it is on Warranty then I would ask Acer.
