New Acer Monitor is pink!

Just purchased the Acer G236HL monitor to use as a mirror monitor for my Dell Inspirion Laptop.  Monitor came with a standard VGA cord and connections which fits my computer's video slot.  There is no outlet on my laptop for the larger DVI cable.  The screen has a pink hue.  What's the problem?

    Sounds like a loose connection..

No, connection was fine.  However, we're hoping that a HDMI adapter for the DVI cable will solve the problem.  Although, I'm perplexed as to why they would supply a VGA cable in the shipping materials if it won't work!?  Nobody has been able to explain that one!

If you're sure it's not a loose connection, then it might be the cable itself...in which case getting an adapter won't solve the problem...though I suppose it might be worth a shot. Imperfections happen all the time - I'm sure it wasn't their intent to send you a faulty cable (if that is indeed the problem), but it happens. Before you buy a new cable, though, I'd suggest trying to hook up the monitor to another computer, if available. Also, there should be some buttons on the lower right of the monitor that should allow you to access the monitors settings - this would include a color scheme. It should have been shipped to you at some nominal setting, but as the screens pink, I'd still check that just to make sure that there's nothing out of the order
