How to put Windows 7 UEFI or legacy install on Aspire E1-571

Hello and Good evening.

New on this forum so forgive me if this has been covered.

I have purchased a Aspire E1 571 that had windows 8 on it. To cut a long story short one day this would not boot up and could not get past the windows 8 recovery screen. Now when i switch it on it says no bootable device even with a windows 7 disc in the DVD drive.

I have switched from UEFI to legacy and this boots up using the CD however it will not let me install on the partition and will bring up an error message.

Basically I want it to think it has nothing on at all and all hidden partitions deleted so i can start from scratch!

Now i am not a expert on UEFI and legacy or GTP and MBR but i am sure there is a simple way for me to get windows 7 on?

Will be very gratefull for any help Smiley Happy

Regards

John

Here are several possible causes of your problem, so I can't be sure what will work. My first advice is to try to get into Windows 8 in Safe Mode. OFTEN, repeatedly pressing the F8 key during start-up will do this. Another common method is to hold down (don't keep pressing) the shift key during start-up, and it will take you to a table of options that includes Safe Mode. If you can get in, use your anti-virus to run a deep scan.

Sometimes, your computer will automatically send you to the Options Menu after two failed start-ups. Select Troubleshoot and work your way to Safe Mode. Surprisingly, ANY legal Windows 8 DVD will enable you to go to the Options Menu before it asks for your key code. Try to borrow one, put it in your DVD drive, and start it up.

Switching to Windows 7 is probably a bad idea. Your drivers are designed for Windows 8, and you will lose them if you install another operating system.

If all else fails many computer shops have a program that will force its way into your operating system, and from there, they can repair the damage.

thank you for your response trouble is i formatted the partition when i got through the install screens when using legacy mode however it would not let me go an futher forward by saying there was an error. This leads me to think i have now wiped it and there is nothing on it. Thinking there could also be hidden partitions that might need deleting as well.

I have switched back to UEFI in bios but says there is nothing to boot or wont boot the cd Smiley Sad

Reason for windows 7 is a happen to own a genuine disc and dislike windows 8!

John, there is a chance that you didn't delete your restoration disk. Try my suggestions and see if you can re-install Windows. If all esle fails, you might have to buy the restoration disks from Acer.

Thanks for that but nothing works Smiley Sad

When switched on it no says in a black dos style screen no bootable device please restart.

Does not boot from a windows disc either when insterted before starting

Note: all bios settings changed back to factory settings.

Will a acer disc repair this ? can i download this?

    Cheers

John, I looked over the other posts in this thread, and I think you should take your rig to a computer shop. You can buy the restoration program from Acer, but you still might not be able to get in.

Hi John, A basic question : did you change to boot order to bring booting from the optical drive on top ?

Yeah have tried moving them about. I can get it to boot from a windows cd if i change to legacy bios however it will not let me i stall on any partition due to got. Can not cha ge this either or delete the hidden partitions.

    thanks

Sorry for typos on a phone. Should be can not install due to the partition being gpt. Can not change this or see any hidden paritions. Would be great if i could wipe the while drive and start from scratch.
