Hello! My laptop recently started crashing and getting the BSOD: video dxgkrnl fatal error. I don't really use my laptop for any heavy gaming or editing, just schoolwork for a few hours a day.

I've tried nearly every solution I could find online: from uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers to sfc and DISM prompts via command prompt. I even did a factory reset on my laptop, but it did not solve the problem whatsoever. Here's a link to my minidump files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MMHmyK-h74g5XE6-GOzrOT5V_ajtPB3X?usp=sharing

I'm a student and don't have the funds to buy a new laptop out of the blue, so I'm really desperate and would appreciate any help. Thank you!

Which Swift X model do you have? There have been lots of different ones over the years. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFXxx-xxx-xxxx.

OK, so the late 2021 AMD based design. They used one of three different NVIDIA GPUs in those, which do you have? What driver version is installed? I see that Acer has released two versions, but NVIDIA might have done newer ones yet.

Hi! Sorry, I'm not that familiar with tech so may I ask where on my laptop I can check? In Device Manager under display adapters, it only says AMD Radeon Graphics. I also have the NVIDIA Control Panel downloaded but it says that a NVIDIA graphics card was not detected in my system.

Is there a chance you have a SFX14-41 model rather than the SFX14-41G? The 'G' suggests the NVIDIA GPU should be installed… The fact that it is not showing and Device Manager isn't complaining about there being something wrong, means there could be a motherboard problem with the NVIDIA GPU, causing the errors. Are you still in warranty?

Just checked my System Information and the model is definitely SFX14-41G. Unfortunately, my warranty is about to expire this August and I'm currently studying abroad. When I went to my local Acer Service Center, they said that my laptop is out of warranty since it wasn't bought in the country I'm currently residing in.

If it's worth anything, I tried searching the keyword "NVIDIA" in System Information and the following popped up:

Is there a chance that I need to uninstall and reinstall NVIDIA or AMD drivers?

P.S.: Sorry for any misuse of terminologies. I'm not well-versed in tech and am just desperate for some help.

Sorry for multiple comments/replies, but I checked the hidden devices on Device Manager and NVIDIA GPU popped up but it's grayed out:

What does this mean and what should I do next? Thank you so much!

That means there is almost certainly an issue with the motherboard, since the NVIDIA chips are soldered on. Try again to contact Acer, you should have an international warranty regardless of what the tech told you…
