4-year-old battery if not replaced yet I would do that first. If none of the LEDs come on when plugging in the adapter it could be a hardware issue like your power adapter or bad RAM module(s), try another power adapter with a DC plug that properly fits the charging port. After you replaced the battery and tried another adapter and still no LED lights, I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check the motherboard.

  • Hello! I advise you to first disconnect all devices, such as: RAM, HD, SSD, WLAN, USB card that are connected to the motherboard and battery. Then, test each hardware individually.
If the problem still persists, there is probably a lack of primary voltage or there is a short in the 19v line. But you need to check the motherboard.

Seems like my message didn't send, maybe too long? I don't know

Anyways, here is a shortened and segmented version

    Hello! Thanks for the response

    For Puraw:

Unfortunately I don't have access to another DC power adapter, but I will try to see if it will turn on with either of the ram modules. I want to try other methods first before changing the battery, being quite limited time-wise because very very soon I'm going on a long vacation to turkey I don't wanna risk the delivery time, but I will bring it to an Acer services shop in Turkey (If other methods still don't work)

    For Commodore:

When you say "test each hardware individually" are you saying I should see if the pc gives signs of life without some components in different configurations each time (to spot the defective part)?

For the theory of a short in the 19V lines or other issues with the motherboard, I will have to see with a repair shop/Asus services as I do not have the skills nor the equipment to test those (I haven't seen any visible damage or smelled weird smells at first glance, maybe I should check closer)

Also, would it be safe running the pc from wall power only ? Because I want to see if it turns on without the battery connected and resolve my mystery, but I have seen many contradicting opinions on the internet.

    Thanks and have a great day/night :)

P.S.: I have tried disconnecting, power button pressing for 1~2 minutesand then waiting, and reconnecting the battery internally, but to no avail unfortunately

Hello both of you, first of all thanks for the response.

Replacing my battery isn't an option right now because I'm very soon going on a long vacation in turkey, so I will lookat commanding and/or bringing it to an acer store there, but I do think it may be the battery causing problems aswell

For commodore, when you mean testing each component individually, do you mean I should disconnect and reconnect components, and I should try to turn on the pc with every combination? If I'm wrong please correct me, by the way I forgot to put it in the first text but I did try to disconnect, do all the power button tricks and wait for it to discharge, and reconnect it internally, obviously it amounted to nothing

For the lack of 19v voltage or anything else with the power delivery and the motherboard, I will see a pc repair shop/acer services in turkey (mentionned earlier) because I do not have the instruments and skills for that,

Thanks and have a good day/night

  • Disconnect all components such as RAM, HD, SSD, WLAN, USB card, Hall sensor, touchpad, keyboard and battery. Then, with all components disconnected, check if the computer turns on. If the computer does not turn on, it may be a problem with the main board. If you have experience with electronics and have a multimeter, I would start by checking if 19v is coming to these coils:
