How many RAM slots do I have?

The RAM memory that I have currently is in dual channel or single channel (my laptop comes with 16GB RAM)?

What specifications my RAM has? (frequency and the max frequency that I can upgrade it with)

Do I need something additional to mount a HDD on the free slot besides the cable and the screws that the laptop comes with?

It has two SODIMM slots that can handle up to 32GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM. 2x8GB-3200MHz (16GB) is installed running in Dual Channel Mode that you can upgrade to 2 x16GB (32GB) maximum RAM (see table below and Kingston link). For storage you have two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for SSD and an additional 2.5-inch SATA drive bay for either an SSD or an HDD. You can install a M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD up to 1TB in the first slot (marked as 1 on picture below) like the Samsung 980Pro or 990 EVO and a M.2 NVMe Gen3 SSD like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus or a M.2 SATA SSD 1TB in the second slot (marked as 2 on picture below). For a 2.5" SATA-3 SSD (last picture) the Samsung 870 EVO V-NAND up to 2TB would work.

Just some further advice for you to speed your laptop up, as the Nitro AN517-54 comes fitted with the PCIe 4x4 M.2 SSD drive and the best way to increase speed for gaming is to make sure that you have the speediest M.2 SSD drive, so I suggest that you look at the speediest tested drives that was tested by Tom's Hardware benchmarking here at SSD Benchmarks Hierarchy 2024 and choose the speediest M.2 SSD Gen 4 drives for your AN517-54 Gen 4 x4 boot drive as some of the AN517-54 laptops with these gpu's like the GTX1650, RTX3050 and the RTX3050Ti gpu's came with a Gen 3x4 M.2 Storage 2 slave drive, so be aware of this also, as all the other AN517-54 laptops are fitted with both Storage 1 and Storage 2 at PCIe4x4 type M.2 SSD drives. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

    Speediest 1Tb, 2Tb and 4TB M.2 Gen4x4 M.2 SSD tested drives:

    1. Solidigm P44 Pro 1TB - at sequential 6,447 MB/s and at Copy 1,940 MB/s
    2. Crucial T500 2TB - at sequential 6,904 MB/s and at Copy 2,283 MB/s
    3. Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus-G 4TB - at sequential 7,004 MB/s and at Copy 1,824 MB/s

My model comes with a RTX 3070, so the second SSD slot is a gen 4?

What do you recommend for storing things: 2.5 inch SSD or 2.5 inch HDD?

As far as I know, SSDs don't have moving parts so they should be more reliable than HDD, but their lifespan is measured in GB wrote so I have a dillema.
