    • Trying to transfer data from a 9-12 year old laptop? it shutdowns randomly

    Hello, I am trying to transfer data from a 9-12 year old laptop, however it stays at 0%, When I charge it, it still stays at 0%. It will not turn on unless it is plugged in. Also, it shutdowns randomly and I think the bios has a password on it. Is there a solution or is it stuck like this?

      Transfer to what? If you are using a 4TB USB3.0 external backup drive that may not be compatible with that legacy laptop, try a 1TB USB2.0 backup drive or flash drive.

      What laptop do you have? What OS is running on it? What are you trying to transfer to? If the old laptop is stable with the charger plugged in then there shouldn't be an issue with copying data from it.
