Hi everybody,

I have an Acer Aspire 7 3750H that can connect to the house wi-fi but blocks every time I try to connect to my phone hotspot. My phone hotspot works because I tested it on another device, the wi-fi works too because each device of the house can connect to it. I tried to uninstall the network adapter but nothing changed.

Dont't know how to deal with it anymore, my laptop has become a desktop PC and I gotta travel with my Pop!_OS laptop because it can connect to my phone.

Did you re-boot for the change to take effect? Do you still have a 3rd virus scanner running in the background on startup besides Windows Defender? Like m c a fee? N or ton? A va st?

Search Windows start menu 'firewall'. Clic 'check firewall status' near top of menu. Click 'turn Windows Defender Firewall on/off in left pane. Click firewall turn off in public network settings.

If you have a 3rd party scanner like mc a fee or n or ton running in the background, you'd have to disable or change its public network settings too.

It keeps telling me "protected, you cannot connect to this network" even after I did what you said to me
