This was common with Microsoft Windows before, so if you’re encountering the “Your Windows License Will Expire Soon” error, there are several steps you can take to resolve it. Let’s explore some solutions:
- Restart Windows Explorer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart of Windows Explorer can work wonders. Follow these steps:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
- In the “Processes” tab, right-click on Windows Explorer and select Restart.
- This will close the File Explorer and refresh various system processes that rely on Windows Explorer.
- You can also directly restart Windows Explorer by clicking the folder icon on the Taskbar or using the Task Manager’s “Run new task” option and typing
explorer.exe
. - If the activation reminder persists, try restarting your computer to see if that resolves the issue.
- Sometimes, a simple restart of Windows Explorer can work wonders. Follow these steps:
- Run the Windows Activation Troubleshooter:
- Windows includes built-in troubleshooting tools that can diagnose and fix hardware and software issues.
- Go to Settings > Updates & Security > Activation and select Troubleshoot.
- Make sure you’re signed in as an administrator and that your PC has an active internet connection.
- The troubleshooter may help identify and resolve activation-related problems.
- Reactivate Windows:
- If you’re certain that your Windows license is valid, try reactivating Windows using the same product key.
- slmgr.vbs /dlv
- This will display information about your license. Ensure it’s valid and corresponds to your version of Windows.
- Try Activating Windows Online:
- Open the Command Prompt run as an administrator and type in:
slmgr /xpr
- This will show the expiration date of your Windows license.
Remember, if you encounter any issues, consider checking the type of license installed on your system (OEM, retail, or volume license). If necessary, contact Microsoft Support or your license vendor for further assistance12. Hopefully, these steps will help you resolve the issue and prevent the annoying activation reminders! Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Hi @Macaron the computer should come with a Home version of Windows 11, have you upgraded to a Pro version of Windows 11?
Have you installed a corporate version of Windows?
Is the computer from a company?Regards.

As Alejandro_AC suggested, contact the retailer, the message generally indicates there is a volume license version of Windows Pro or Enterprise installed on the PC, not a consumer licence. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/your-windows-license-will-expire-soon-windows-11/8998c4df-51dd-4f21-9268-7dc4798644b2

That is, it is a key based on business volume, you were not honest with my question.
